no it was a quote from the site. i was trying to edit my post but my internets is gay.

I dont agree with said quote!

Oh thank God ( ), I was hoping you weren't like that.

someone who must be nocturnal
That just isn't possible: UNLESS there is a giant outside source of energy supplying the Earth with huge amounts of energy

BWAAAAAAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!! *sob* *sob* TM, I must agree, that one's unbeatable!!

I'd love to have been looking over the shoulder of the person who wrote that, then, when they finished, put an arm around their shoulder, say "come with me, I have something to show you".... lead them outside, and just point at the sun....

EDIT: Of course if they live in the UK, they could be forgiven for not having noticed the sun ever before.

Everyone knows scientists insist on using complex terminology to make it harder for True Christians to refute their claims.

Deoxyribonucleic Acid, for example... sounds impressive, right? But have you ever seen what happens if you put something in acid? It dissolves! If we had all this acid in our cells, we'd all dissolve! So much for the Theory of Evolution, Check MATE!

Surely this has to be a joke.

That is probably one of the greatest things ever.

***Oh and this one, I don't whether I want to puke to cry?

A woman for president is a bad idea. Hillary for president is even worse. Do you think America never had a woman for president by coincidence?

[You can transfer that logic to black people, seeing as there's been no black presidents - Anyway it's incredibly insensitive, stupid and unbased.]

As stupid as you think it sounds I totally agree. Blacks should not ever be in positions of power. They should be suppressed back in to slavery.

I've always wondered how much of the Bible was changed over the years, I assume the stories were oral legend before being written down and adapted from other stories (there is a list of comparison stories some where).

Change a few words every 10 or so years and it can very quickly turn into something very different.

That's what I have always thought but I'm not sure.

Are you serious? Evolutionist debate amongst each other all the time on what happened, sure the basics are accepted but beyond that not so much. Even human evolution isn't accepted on how it happened, some believe Neanderthal was a proto-human while others believe they were an entirely different species.

I'm in a class right now that explores the history of anthropology and the way these theories developed, and as I always say this does not even remotely make me an expert on this topic but I'll be more then happy to answer questions on the matter as best as I can.

Sounds like a very interesting class Joey. 👍

I'm not sure, but isn't it so that only 1 or 2 evangelists were an apostle of Jesus, and all the rest wrote down the stories that they heard about Jesus?
(not counting Judas his version)

And Christian fundamentalists are not really different than Muslim fundamentalists.
The only real difference is that those particular Muslims kill people, and the Christians say they want to, but are held back by the consequences.

What would be their reaction if you told them that Christians, Jews and Muslims share their god, only the naming is different :)

I think you'd either be called a blasphemer, or get your head lopped off.

What, you don't think there's a committee up there?

I guess I'd better stay the heck away from vitamin C! (citric acid, then there's pantethonic (sp?) acid...) It's amazing how "fundies" choose what texts to take literally, or at face value. Not to mention how they limit their God's attribute's to their own & give "him" their fears and shortcomings. They assume God has an ego.

Well, considering the oldest texts can be attributed to around the time of Moses that is a pretty good guess. And considering that before then papyrus wasn't exactly a common thing it would be hard to envision huge tablets carved with every thing up through Exodus or Deuteronomy.

As far as the New Testament goes I believe none of the books were written until 60+ years after Jesus died.
30-60 years is the best guess for the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), as we don't have any hard dates for the birth and death of Jesus but the writings seem to be dated in a 30-60 year period after events described in the story of Jesus. Whether they were written by said gospels themselves or passed on by word-of-mouth until someone educated as a scribe wrote them is unknown. And of course, Mark, not being one of the 12 disciples, was not personal witnessing, but believed to have been a retelling of Matthew and Luke.

The New Testament as a whole tells stories that take place well after Jesus died, as it was all written by the apostles after his death.

If you mean there weren't twelve disciples I have never heard that theory.

If you mean only one or two of the people named to go on and proclaim the story, as told in the New Testament; Acts alone mentions Peter, Paul, Matthias (replaced Judas), and John (maybe more). And then Paul and John are credited with the authoring of many books, but James and Thaddeus (Jude) have their own books too. Now, whether it is that many died in the persecutions and the stories were not known or told, I do not know. But as the stories relate many being arrested and/or killed I can assume not all of them lived long enough to relay their tales of evangelism.

IRA Crusades KKK

No, Christian fundamentalism has led to much bloodshed and some not that long ago. It may not be as bad today and Northern Ireland may have a more stable atmosphere and the KKK may be shunned, but Christian Fundamentalism has and still can lead to a lot bloodshed

BLASPHEMER!!!!!

Yeah, they kind of miss the point that the difference between the three is merely a prophet/messiah, or lack of.

Change a few words every 10 or so years and it can very quickly turn into something very different.
But any historical/religious story worth passing on for generations will not lose its meaning. The point will still remain.

We aren't talking about playing telephone in a classroom here, we are talking about passing on a heritage. If someone telling the story gets something important wrong others that know the story will correct him.

I was pointing at the Christians who write some of these quotes.
Those 3 didn't even cross my mind when i was writing my post :)

Oh, I am pretty sure that if they didn't have a threat of jail they might not hold back. Notice they think the laws should change to meet their hateful rhetoric. Give them both a secular and religious OK and they will do it.

The few that do act out by killing abortion doctors and whatnot are the ones who find themselves above the law or get caught up in the rhetoric so much that they forget to weigh the consequences.

Or feel that they are selflessly surrendering their own life / freedom for the greater good. *

The Brick Testament is the only Bible I will ever need.

The Bible in Legos? That's awesome.
