top gear 35 000 MR challenge

Have seen some of these challenges so I thought it would be fun to start one...here are the rules

Buy any MR car for under $35 000 then post your purchase
With any remaining money you may buy upgrades but you may only purchase no more than stage one upgrades
Also you must have sports soft tires or less
Now once you have your car ready take it around laguna seca and post your best time

Hoping this will be a close challenge,enjoy
 
sounds cool sadly i cant partake i am doing one at the moment myself
 
That's ok there no rush, this will be an open challenge so no time limit... just for fun :)
 
Here is my purchase, just found a 1980 renault 5 turbo for $26,074
 
Here is my best time so far, did a 1.49'316 on sports medium tires
