Top Gear: A turn to the lighter side of GT5 apparently?

Has anyone raced the British Lightweight Race at Top Gear? The track is essentially a demolition derby because the cones are irrelevant and you can eventually smash into the opponents with no penalty.
 
That race was an embarrassment for the game. When I went in, I went to my garage to find a usable car, and was rather surprised to find one... the McLaren F1 Stealth.
 
It seems that Top Gear paired with PD just to make a joke of themselves. Each of the special events on the TGTT was absolutely horrible and seemed to highlight everything bad about either the cars or the track or both!

The samba bus race was very far from enjoyable and the lotus elise race made it seem like PD never even step foot into a lotus, let alone drive it to get data.

And who's idea was it to stick more than 1 car on the track (and in two very different areas too SO they can crash).
