I really hope that the GT Team break the association with Top Gear.

I cannot stand the show, with their bigoted, old-fashioned views of the environment and stereotypical views of 'foreigners' and I hate the references to it included in GT5.

Even the track is extremely dull.

Forza are welcome to them, as far as I'm concerned. I cannot hear or see Clarkson or his cronies without wanting to put my foot through the tv.
 
Lighten up, it's an entertainment show which I and many people enjoy, whether it's not really factual at all.

Still everyone's own opinion and you've clearly stated why you hate Top Gear but I'm sure many people like myself enjoying messing about on the Top Gear Test Track and would be sad to see it gone.

They didn't really have an association to begin with, Top Gear was poorly implanted into GT5.. I'm just curious though, if neither Forza 4 or GT5 didn't have Top Gear content, would they have sold as well?
 
I had to lol as well that the already minimal amount of connection to TG present in GT5 was still enough to set off this thread. :lol:
 
Oh wow, so why should they remove it just because 1 person doesn't like the show? Don't drive on the track then if you don't like it. Let the rest of us who enjoy the show and see it for what it is (a laugh) get on and have fun on it.

I'm sure the amount of people who like TG outweigh the people who dislike it by far. Anyway, each to their own.

I totally see where your coming from with the clarkson angle. But you know thats british humor for you. Personally i love top gear. Best show on. Dont watch the u.s. version though,sooo bad. Car show is pretty cool too
 
From what I've heard they are already not associated. You won't see The Stig being mentioned in GT5 after this...

I just see it as a VERY enjoyable sitcom, with very clever use of cool fast cars... those blardy funny idiots (with all due respect of course) :)

I think TG is, as most of us are, disappointed with GT. TG will probably dump PD. That's what PD gets for focusing on the wrong thing.

That is fair. Several people don't get British humor. Monty Python never really caught on. TG isn't really shown in that many countries. I mean.. outside of the ones with TVs, I mean.

And yes, they have every right to have horrible views of "foreigners". I'm an American, and I'll be the first to admit, we make horrible cars. I only buy Japanese, because I can't afford European.

I know. They should've gotten a good racing team to design it. Someone like Lotus, for example.

I wouldn't vote for Clarkson, I admit. But he is funny, for a Tory.
 
Im fairly certain top gear is one of the most syndicated shows in the world,i could be wrong. Watch the episode when they go to romainia

I really hope that GT5 cuts ties with Mercedes and VW considering the German army used these vehicles in WWII... :rolleyes:
 
As one of the foreigners that they like to poke fun at--especially the quality of our cars--I can say that I don't mind at all. I also share their envirnmental views and agree with them that hydrogen is the way of the future, not EVs.
 
I love Top Gear great show great humour. I don't agree with everything Jezza says, but I get a good laugh out of him saying it. Last season or two worry me that the show might be becoming a parody of itself, but it is still damn funny.

...oh wait, what top gear stuff? There's just the track and a short clip of Stig driving an Aston, that's about it.

Hydrogen is insanely combustible not to mention the cars are insanely expensive to produce. Fisker karma should be the standard for alternative vehicles.
I drove a one off hydrogen honda crv,and my boss told me it was worth six figures and dont crash or you could blow up ha. Fortunately we got the car on a trial,and didnt have to buy it
 
Has no one even noticed his location? He doesn't have to be from another country to hate dumb clarkson.

Honestly, James May is the S***. He's the only that isn't a complete imbecile and has class. The other two are total clowns and speak the same way ALL THE TIME.

It's not to say I don't think they're funny (Hammond is always a BLEEEEEEEP), it's just that it got old with the same annoying sounds clarkson and hammond make.

Who the **** is TG and why should PD give a **** about them in the first place?
 
Any issue you have with Top Gear is for the Top Gear thread, and not the GT5 forum.
