Hello

Since the 11th Series of Top Gear kicks off tonight, I thought it'd be fun to relate to this.

Baisically, you have to buy a 2nd hand coupe for less than 10,000CR and come back here (this thread :P) and tell us: What you've bought and How much you bought it for.

Now, dont everyone go for the skyline, lots of cars are probably cheaper and faster 👍

Then we can compare the cars via time trial times etc.

Sorry if this has been done, I cant find the search! (If there is one)

EDIT: With the change you can buy 1 piece of tuning kit for it (only with the change left over)

EDIT #2: This is for offline, I dont have online!

not a bad idea, i think i may join in on this.

8:00 pm BBC2. Cant wait!

With coupe you mean 2doors?

and what tuning is alloud, all including tires, oilchange ?
I hope the test we do are on N tires.

After a quik search on the used park lot i found a couple off models iam tempting to buy.
Nissan Bluebird hardtop 1800 SSS from '79. for 4.437 cr
Toyota Celica XX 2800 gt from '81. for 8.130 cr
Isuzu Piazza XE from '81 for around 8.000
And offcourse a couple off skylines.

Yep, any tuning- except new tyres (ie: Racing tyres)

Aslong as it fits the change (Cr) from the car you bought ;)

I'll have a looksy in a bitsy :)

Moving this thread to the correct location too.

And we have a big search box at the top of the page.

Cool idea! These challenges always seemed to be more fun than competitive on the show, so I won't bother trying to get the most powerful car I can find to dominate.

The stats are just for fun; they're taken from the stat sheet that appears when you buy or sell a car.

Isuzu PIAZZA XE '81
- 8,627cr
- FR
- Manual transmission
- 45,270.7 miles
- L4 DOHC, 1949cc
- 120HP @ 6200 rpm
- 122.60 ft./lb of torque @ 5000 rpm
- 1190kg

Upgrade:
- Initial oil change: 50cr (8,677cr), +13HP (133HP)

I think I'll join in this. It Sounds Fun

Seeing as there are no Jaguar XJS12s available, I'll have to go with something else that is suitably large and heavy.

Fc RX-7 FTW!!! for 8.5g also :D.
Mod was oil change which got me to 204hp.

Oh, god, the show was hilarious. I especially enjoyed hearing James' sirens as he pulled up to the accident, and when Jeremy tried to use the wheel spike. He tore the 🤬 out of that car!

Only saw the ending off Topgear....:dunce:

Weapon off choise:
(if alloud)

Car Honda CR-X sir
Year 1990
Type FF
Power 169 BHP/7600 RPM
Torque 161.70 NM/7000 RPM
Mileage 84.095 KM
Price 5.414 cr
Upgrade Stage 1 Turbokit a 4.500 cr

Totall spend 9.914

can i do a oilchange/carwash also?

yeah top gear was so funny, jeremy's was great, until he tried to drive it....

And Richards looked like one you would find on a beach in miami in 1984.....

okay so heres my car.

Honda INTEGRA TYPE R (DC2) '95

1797cc

178BHP / 8000rpm

1060kg

FF

Cr. 7,797 (only one digit away from the price!)

My modification was stage 1 weight reduction (1000cr)

If it's a 2dr hatchback, then yes.

I've seen a nice Mitsubishi FTO for only 6,000Cr :)

I just hope my game hasnt been corrupted by the power cut lastnight (i was playing gt4 at the time) :nervous:

Toke my CR-X sir out for a spin on Midfield.
Midfield clean lap 1.31.---
After 7.000 rpm its turns in a little devil.

so are we gonna start this or what?

Nice if gtchallenge would select a track so we can start to compare cars.

EDIT: My Piazza @ Suzuka times

T1: 1'12.614
T2: 2'16.777
F: 2'49.828

The car's fun to thrash around, but it's got a lot of body roll, resulting in some bad sliding understeer if you enter a corner too fast.

Cyborg - Unless you are in the UK and downloading Top Gear from the BBC's iPlayer, it is illegal to download from anywhere else

I decided to send an email to the BBC to find out about the legality of downloading programs.

I got a reply today. The highlighted bit was done by me.

Dear David

Thank you for your e-mail regarding internet downloads.

I understand you would like to know if it is illegal to download copies of BBC programmes from the internet.

Unless programmes have been made available online by the BBC it is illegal to download them, due to copyright and contractual agreements.

Thank you for taking the time to contact the BBC.

So, there you have it.

Way to try to ruin it for us that don't get the shows locally!

The guys behind Top Gear have known about FinalGear.com for quite some time now (they don't seem to mind, btw - here's a recent mention of the site [12th pgph]), so I'd have a hard time believing the BBC hasn't found out yet. What's more, they haven't done a thing about it, so I doubt they're all that fussed.

This looks like a laugh so im in!

Nissan Silvia K's '88 6600 cr.
oil change 50 cr.
sports exhaust 1500 cr.
weight reduction (s1) 1000 cr.
semiracing flywheel 500 cr.

Total 9650 cr.

Suzuka lap time: 2'32.884

Just been racing around Suzuka in a Pescarolo Judd for GTPLMS, funny doing it in something this slow! (80mph less around 130R:dunce:)

Srry ABud but there is only one upgrade alloud. So or oilchange or a something else but only one.BTW this tread is close to dead.

I worked out a much better Topgear challange with involveld some real crazy test (never done on this site) like they do in the show.

You need a buddy and 2 controllers because some test are done in 2playerbattle mode. Also some recording divice so you can upload it to Utube or something similar.

We need at least 3 teams with 2 players on a team. The team names are:
1. Powerrr!!
2. Hamster
3. Capt.Slow

If there is enougf intrest i put up a tread as soon as possible.
I just send the BBC a email to ask if iam alloud to use there logos.

Thomas.
