Hi,

Today, on the opening part of GT5, where you get to choose from GT Mode, Arcade, Course Maker..., I saw aerial shots of the Top Gear Test Track, without cones.

The screen then proceeded to show a Yellow Lamborghini Gallardo, a Grey Aston Martin DB9, and a Brown Ferrari 512 BB, INSIDE the STUDIO, with top gear signs and all the TV's in the background.

So, I was wondering if anybody else had seen this, and why PD had actually modeled the track without cones, but not given us the ability to use it.

If any answers come, thanks in advance.

1. Yes we've all seen it. It's part of the game.
2. The Top Gear track is set up for racing, and the cones are there to act as guides for the corners. Are the cones that much of an issue?

I've never seen the inside of the Top Gear studio in GT5. It's weird how they have that in there. I don't know why the guy who posted above me has to be mean/jerkish about it.

And what the hell, if they show the track without the cones (which I've seen), why shouldn't we be able to choose. It is a pretty big issue when you barely hit one/some and it flies in the way of all the cars, making you have to sway around it or you'll slow down significantly. It ruins the whole FEEL of the track. I'm not a fan at all of the cones. Since some of the track variations suck, why not have Top Gear Test Track without cones. So many duplicate cars anyway.

I've never seen that... I'll keep my eyes open for it :D

Cones? If you're in cockpit view they can be a big help because however you slice it you can't get the same spatial awareness from a video game that you get in a real life car!

But, I believe once you get to know the track, it shouldn't be tough to stay on track. The first time I raced on it, the cones definitely helped, but not so much anymore.

The video you're talking about is the one they use for the Top Gear Special Event. It's basically just saying where the track is, mentions the hosts and the Stig. How the Stig does lap times etc. It's purely for the video.

This, they just hinder me, plus without cones it looks like it does on TV (Not that it doesn't anyway :dopey:) I have seen it in the intro, an wondered this myself.

I hate the cones littering the track after 5 minutes of messing around. Also its pretty annoying that you can't drive on the full TGTT (the entire air field) and even though its a test track you can't drive the way you want without the wrong way sign.

Pretty much. I don't know why PD won't let you, at least, take the wrong way sign off. They should let you choose in practice and arcade mode. Of course, I'm dreaming.

... and while they give us the entire air field to play on, they might as well throw in a few fun top gear challenges and classic top gear cars (James May's car boat, Jeremy Clarkson's car-house and Richard Hammond's budget police car, anyone? Oh, and the Reliant Robin!). Just for the fun of it :)

lol for sure.

It's a shame PD didn't add the Top Gear celebrity cars or w/e.

Screw Top Gear though. Bunch of goons. They just want money and supercars, not a care about simulators. For some reason, Clarkson mentioned a year after he did the GT4 comparison, that he never has never tried out the Nurburgring in any way whatsoever. A couple minutes later, some douche talks about the Nurburgring in an Xbox video game and how it didn't have any bumps in the road. Forza?
