I was going through the player information attached with the lap times and noticed that the top 2 people overall have LVl 0 both aspec and Bspec and no licenses. Mind you that's not every single one of the top guys. For example I looked at a couple of the guys who are on GTP and their Lvl stats were there so it's definitely not a bug.
I'm just wondering how those guys can be so awesome without having played the game at all. Mind you I am NOT thinking they are cheating, I just wanna know if there are any other means of practicing :)
Congrats to those of you who who are up at the top :)

It's because they have specific PSN's for the GTPlanet's Weekly Race Series (WRS). One of the rules is that you need to have "GTP_" before your PSN, so a lot of people have multiple PSN's. Chances are these same drivers have a different account that they use for A-spec and B-spec single player racing...although who knows - maybe they only do online racing and time trial practice.

They probably just set up specific PSNs for competing only. Maybe they don't want anyone to know who they are.

Not possible since they arent GTPers but I get what you're saying as far as creating an Academy specific PSN.

My bad - I'm just trolling the forums at work because I don't have access to my PS3...and it's a real slow day. I guess I just assumed GTP since WRS participants are well groomed to compete in these types of competitions.

Yikes thats a plunge. Im a loyal follower but never intend to get that hard core. My miata needs more attention :sly:

That's the reason I purchased my PS3 + wheel, still need to get the evolution seat though. This desk setup is killing my driving posture.

Initially when I got GT5, I didn't know the password to my GTP PSN account, or which email it used... and It was midnight... and I had the choice to either start playing the game on another account or spend half an hour trying to figure out the password shenanigans.. Probably could have figured it out while the game was installing all the stuff in the beginning but whatever.. but yeah, I wanted to represent GTP in my GT Academy endeavors so I figured out how to change the email/password and now I'm one of those people who have zero's on everything but am doing fair in the competition so far.

Top players don't find completlly no challange to drive against the AI so they race only online as I see.

How much was your playseat? How much difference do you think it actually makes?

I have a G25 mounted to a TV table that wobbles around, but it gets the job done for the most part.

My playseat was 280 from amazon, it's a white A1gp USA version with a custom gear mount. All that matters is you have a comfortable seating location that is sturdy. IF the table is wobbling this may effect your feedback.

Here's what mine looks like.

Nice setup.

I don't think I'll get the seat, but maybe try to build some Frankenstein stand with my dad tomorrow (my mom is getting him a G27 for Christmas, so we can work from that).

I think the instability might force me to try to be smoother with steering inputs, but using coffee table books as a counterweight to keep the table steady is probably nothing in comparison to a well bolted together setup.

kmac540's sig says he has a DIY setup - I'd like to see a pic of that.

Honestly if I had the time I would make a home made setup, but I needed something portable. That's why I chose the playseat. When we get a bigger place I will be buying a late model GTO seat and making my own setup.

Custom foot rests would be mint, but I do quite enjoy my cup holders. After a few high gravity beers it takes the edge off and the tenths just start dropping off my laps ;).

SCOOTY! You need to get a PS3/GT5 so you can show these guys why you are the baddest mofo on the planet! Or are you too busy giving Huttu a run for his money in iRacing?

lol @ me giving Huttu a run for his monehz...I just hope I can keep up with you bro! I fear that like Cougar, I have lost my edge!

You will put my lap times to shame, I have no doubt about that. No pressure though, lol.

I've personally witnessed you beat the best of the best that the US has to offer in Forza, now its time for you to bring your alien-ness to GT5. I should just send you a PS3/GT5 for X'mas, thats how badly I want you to get in on this thing.
