Smokey Nagata is at it again, this time building an old car, instead of trying to beat car manufactures at their next car. Theres only one pic so far on the SuperStreet page, but I've seen the magazine, and I really think it deserves it's own thread.

I can't wait to see how this thing performs.

EDIT: It has an engine from a Buick Grand National. I can only imagine how fast this thing is.

Awesome!!!!....Turbo lag sounds fun too.
As long as I was on a straight road, I would do it all the time just to feel the power when the turbo finally spools.

Man I can't wait until someone gets a video of this thing, it's got to be so friggen fast.

plenty pics here! not a shred of info tho :odd:

Thats the oddest looking Turbo buick engine i've seen, that looks more like some sort of 4 cylinder engine with ITB's.

I'm sure Buick won't be too happy that someone seems to have stuck an upside down Toyota badge onto it using blu-tack.

Nice to see they tuned the original Celica 2000gt 18R-G engine.

Woah, beautiful Celica 👍 I'm sure it's fast, we're talking about Smokey Nagata here

BTW: Isn't that Nagata's latest project on the right in the second picture in post #5?

Take off all the sponsorships and badges, and cover it in a a nice pearl, and you'd have a pretty nice car there.

No, Black, with a gold roof. Like the OTHER Smokey's cars...

Is Yunick still around? perhaps the two of them should collaborate...

Beautiful car (minus the stickers) and the wheel choice was excellent. They really help set off the car in my opinion. Toyomatt (or whoever else), what kind of wheels are those?

remove the stickers and I'd make a plan to save it. at the moment, I just keep a silent 5 minutes for the memory of once so beautiful car that has been turned intoa a stickerbook.

It's a Japanese tuner company, they aren't out to make "clean" cars. Having clean cars is something an American tuner (Yes that is a stereotype) would do. Look at any well known Japanese tuner's cars, they are all covered with crazy paintjobs and stickers, that's just the style that they have there. They are there to promote the parts they have on the car and the company they made it. When you make a car like that without stickers and crazy paintjobs, it's because you were trying to make a "clean" car, which isn't what they set out to do.

So basically, it might look more "clean" without all the stickers, but a "clean" car isn't what Top Secret aims for when tuning a car.

Sweet ride ....
its from Nagata-san, so it must be really fast and it's built for highway 👍

I dont' know, but it's a Supra and there was something that looked like that in Super Street... Which was, apparently, fast.

Tell me, a few years ago he drove a Top Secret GT300 Supra in New Zealand at a speed of 190 mph, in fourth gear!

Very nice! 👍

Also good to see, though, that his "production" car is being put to good use in one photo....

Woo... this makes me want to get an old Mk1 Celica even more...

So hard to find :( I wanna get one and clean it up and maybe drop a 3S-GTE in it or something absurd. Clean paint job, nice wheels, and then take it to a classic car show and park it next to the mustang guys :D

Love these things so much!
