All drivers must send in a replay before the DEADLINE, Email - tosk@swiftdsl.com.au
Please ensure that you include you name in the subject line so I know who it is from.
Please note, when sending replays, please ensure you follow these steps...
1. Copy the replay from your PS3 to a USB device
2. Zip the replay folder (not the just the files inside), leaving the original folder name intact
3. Email it to tosk@swiftdsl.com.au
Anyone wanting the free version of winzip, send me an email & I will forward you a copy.

DRIVING RULES
- All races must be 100% wall free.
- 2 wheels must be on the track at ALL times (Ripple/Rumble strips are part of the track).
- No AI contact is allowed.
Only sector 2 times are to be discussed during a race.

My lack of racing at Fuji online is certainly showing with this combo :p no real consistency as yet after my test laps ... but can see loads there if I can stop doing 360's leaving the rumbles :lol:

Great combo and even a 3 year old can get a clean banker on this one! ... fast is a different story ;)

Had a couple of hours on this yesterday and got what I thought was a decent banker... tried again tonight and couldn't get anywhere near it (the force was weak!).... spent an hour or so doing huge 4 wheel drifts and laughing my head off... I'm done... will pop into the office early Wednesday and submit.
 
Got some more laps done and this is really a cool and enjoyable combo :cheers:
So far my best save has 1'07.1xx / 56.9xx at T2's but have seen 1'06's on lap 1 so still a bit to scrape up :)

I will be running this until I'm at my target as it's not a chore to drive ... the only annoying part is messing up turn 1 after that long straight and that silly camera view before the startline :banghead: I'll be back soon 👍

Just needed reaquainting with Fuji again 👍

Knowing my luck .. I'll probably hit a brick wall for the remaining sessions trying to grab the tenths to hit my target time haha :dopey:
 
I'm sorta new to all this but is this comp open to everyone? Just recently got ahold of GT5: p and thought I would have a look around for any online comps to have a crack at.

I'd like to spend more time on it as the car is just wonderful (it's even better on S tyres), but work is getting in the way of most things I enjoy at the moment. Don't think I'll have any time tonight, then I'm off on a business trip for the rest of the week and away next weekend - so just lack of time rather than any over-confidence my run is good enough.

I don't think I ever noticed any splits... but I'll have a look at the reply quickly tonight.
 
I realized today that my best save from last night was not on my PS3 as I had thought it was saved but nope! .. I think I must have just exited thoughtlessly after watching the replay :dunce::dunce::dunce:

Ran some more laps tonight in a pretty pissed off mood as my replay shows haha .. it looks ragged as hell :p but it's clean! 👍
my new save now has 1'07.0xx / 56.7xx :) ( seen a couple of 56.5's so will defo be going back )

made sure I saved that one btw :lol:
 
My replay is not showing splits. :nervous:

I think I've gotten about all I can get out of it. Probably submit soon.

The more I drive this car the more I like it. Great combo. 👍
 
Acerlyte - Yes are welcome to join us. Although TORC is an offline event (you don't need the internet to compete), I'm sure you will enjoy yourself just the same. If your looking for some good online racing, check this place out.

Stotty - I know what you mean, I never seem to have enough time to run a good time. And as for the splits, they won't appear in your replay,if you want them you will have to get them when your actually racing! Not a real good idea, or you can do what I did, drag my son in to write down the times... lol

I have saved a good run the first days but don't know about T2's...

Just trying again now and might improve a bit Best 1st 1.07.3 & 2nd 56.3

Edit : Finally improved my total race by 1.5 sec. I really don't know my T2's on my best save as there's a braking point too close and was too concentrated on my racing line... I have just focus on lap times which was better than the ones with my best t2's

Best : first T2 1.06.8xx and 2nd 56.3xx 👍

Thanks for the heads up Tosk, I will check out that link soonish. :)

So far I am probably way off the pace of you guys, I think my best T2s are 1:08 and a 58. Will probably have a bit more of a go over the weekend sometime. Does this new update change anything in regards to this? I haven't updated yet because I read that the physics are a bit different now.
 
Hi all, I suggest that everyone try and get the update DL'ed seeing as though there is still 3 days and 7 hours to race deadline.

I glimpsed a 1:08.xx on my 1st lap but have a lot more to do before the deadline to get a fast race in.
 
Twice today I thought I had a really good time only to noticed that the driving physics had reset to standard. :rolleyes:
 
Acerlyte - As for the update, I'm not sure, but if the last updates are anything to go by, I would get it ASAP. Just did mine & it only took 5 mins. Now just got to try to get time for another run before deadline.

doggyollie - Spec III will affect the handling, I'm sure of it. But as for the deadline extention, I'm not sure yet as I have just got back from being away. I will look into it & post something ASAP.

@ Womble - thats for your asistance while I was away mate, appreciate it

Upgrade to SPEC III
There have been some questions asked regarding extending the deadline for race 4 due to the release of SPEC III.
There will be no extention for race 4. I have all ready received times from drivers before the upgrade to SPEC III was released & to expect them to redo their race would be unfair and with the problems some people have had in getting the upgrade they might not even get it for a while yet.

Race DEADLINE in 27 hours
 
I had a quick re-run on this yesterday to see if Spec III made any difference - and I was struggling to beat my already submited Spec II time.

With the same AI line-up (which took me about 30 minutes of entering and quitting to get!), I could just hit the same turn 1 line & overtake (double draft assisted), but I couldn't get near the overtake & line in to the 2nd turn I got time after time on my Spec II run... the car did feel like it had much less liftoff oversteer, but it also felt like it was down on straight line pace.

Checked my replay, and as near as I can approximate my T2's are a 1.06 on lap 1 and a 56 on lap 2.

Will be interesting to see if Spec III submissions are consistently faster.
 
My Spec II times were in the order of 3 seconds a lap slower compared to Spec III times, BUT then I hadn't ran many races in the old form and possibly had a better group of cars in the latter.
 
I will give it a try tonight ?

My best t2' for Spec II was 1.06.8 and 56.3 I have what I think a Good race ready to send but will try again before and let you know 👍
 
Sorry guys I will be submitting my spec 2 time I ran last week when it was posted .. I have been snowed under with doing pc formats and upgrades for days ( a little something I do casually for extra beer money :sly: ) anyway they have been coming in thick and fast for the last week and I have not really had a chance to surf .. let alone racing! I've not even tested spec 3 racing yet to see what the difference is? :crazy:

I would say keep your Spec II replays as it seems to be completely different after update...

I do have a good & clean Spec II saved replay ;)
 
Spec II Time and replay submitted :nervous: If I can finish in the top 5 for this round I will be happy ... Good luck to all in the results :cheers:
