I just downloaded bittorrent and I'm trying to use it to download torrent files from torrenspy.com. I can never seem to get any of them to download. I click on the link, they open the bittorrent program and nothing happens. I dont know what to do?:dunce:

This isn't exactly legal. I'd close this thread if I were you.

Well, it depends what Boz Mon is trying to download. Not all torrents are illegal, so we should wait and find out if he's trying to download something illegal before condemning him.

You should be able to find help on how to use Bitt (legally) by searching Google.

Bit torrent is perfectly legal. It was created with legal purposes in mind. The idea was to help take the stress off the servers when a large file (like a new Linux distro) by people using BT to download from other people instead of a bajillion people all downloading from one server. Makes for much faster downloads. Torrentspy hosts plenty of non legal torrents so this thread needs to be closed.

I use BitComet, however you should make sure there are seeders seeding the torrent.

Please read THIS.

I don't know a lot about torrents, but I do know that they're involved with piracy.

Well, Bitt was originally developed to distribute educational material IIRC. Since it can quickly distribute large files without a centralised server it's also becoming more popular with game developers (to release new patches/demos etc). Not all torrents are illegal.

Of course, there are plenty of perfectly legal torrents. We can only assume he is using BT for non legal purposes since Torrentspy is full of non legal torrents, though.

I use Azureus so I can't help him anyway.

We can either assume he's using it for legal or non-legal purposes but that doesn't change whether or not he is :)

If he's using it for illegal downloading then I agree with you in that this thread should be locked/deleted, but we don't know.

Indeed. This is quite a touchy subject. Maybe we should find out what he's trying to download...

So...whatcha trying to dl buddy? :D

nevermind, I figured it out. Nothing to see here :scared: Maybe someone should close this thread so no one gets the wrong idea. Because I am definately not trying to pirate programs....
