Just wondering other peoples opinions about the many different "Touring Car" and "Black" versions of cars. I do not use them because Polyphony tuned them. So of course they are going to have better stats. I prefer to use the actual touring cars and racing versions that have been used in actual races. Or such cars that have been actually made by people like the "Red Devil" car.
I don't know maybe I just don't like that PD makes cars better by throwing their name on it and tuning it without true specs.
Am I the only one that feels like that?

No, I dont use them either. Also the racing mod cars, and the cars like the FTO, Zonda, Impreza, Corvette concept, RX8 concept are PD cars too. The SLS, Audi ultimate and GTR silver touring cars are just base models.

Well there is also the same thing with the many innumerable concept cars in the game. There also some that were never completed, and some that don't exist anymore. Examples would be the XJ13 and the P330. (XJ never saw the racetrack only one exists, and the p330 have all been converted), that being said, that means its specs, are just "specs" meaning its a lot of guesswork and questioning the spreadsheets of the cars. I'm glad they are in though.

Yeah I forgot about the corvettes. If I did pick a corvette racing version, it would be the '99 model cause it was in a real race series along with the team Oreca vipers. I think we are on the same page.

I agree with you on that. I'm glad those are there too. Along with the VGT cars. I'm talking about the ones that are boosted by PD just because they slapped gran turismo on the windshields.

These fictional race cars PD come up with have been a normal part of the series ever since GT1, so I don't mind them at all. I actually love driving them and they are also some of my most favorite cars in the game.
Right on! To each their own

So you won't drive the GT3 Porsche's then when they arrive, because they have Gran Turismo slapped on the windshield?

One of my all-time favorite cars is the McLaren F1 Stealth Model. Rarely do I not tune a car, unless it's something historic. So having a base that is already improved upon ('dat downforce level) is a massive boon. And I love the paint job.

No, I'm saying for example. Take the SRT challenger. PD took that car, put a racing mod on it. Giving it a hp and weight and other stats not based on actual challenger that has been in a racing series. I would rather a challenger be in the game that has been in an actual race, ie. team Oreca viper.

Basically, you don't like fantasy race modifications. Honestly, I usually prefer those to a "real" race car, because it allows me to make the car more my own (kinda like with base models).

Oh ok, I gotcha. I can understand that. The base models are cool, because they took "real" race cars and made them more customizable/personable.

Woah, i really like the GT tuned cars. To me it seems like they've tuned them to make them more enjoyable, not just better. My favorite being the SLS Stealth edition - which i think is the same from AMG driving school from GT5. And this is the car that originally made me fall in love with this game

The only ones I mind are the Atenza/6 Touring Car for being duplicated and the 350Z LM Car, for being a slower version of the Fairlady Z LM Car, lazily using the same livery. The rest are cool.

I really like the RX-8 LM, which uses a livery based on that of the 787B. It's just a shame the graphical quality is so poor (baked shading, low-res textures, poorly defined panel gaps, and all the other Standard Car graphical "attributes", as it were).

I use the Impreza Touring Car the most. It reminds me of the S206 Nurb 24H race car. It has enough power stock to give me good racing with higher and lower hp/pp cars. I use it in the 550 PP WTCC: Race 3 and always finish out of the Top 5. Good stuff.

As far as GT3 and Super GT Base Models. All I use are the R35 GT3 and BRZ. The R8s sit in the Lock Up

Do you mean "Black" or Stealth ?

The Nissan GT-R Black Edition is real, also Mercedes have Black Edition cars although none in GT6.

I don't mind the LM, TC, Stealth, Anniversary cars and so on. I'm even happy they're here, especially for the Stealth and Anniversary cars which most of the time are just fine tuned versions of the originals and with a different livery. I can live with that. As for the tuned LM versions and TC I prefer the real versions of the car, but I really don't mind driving one of those GT tuned vehicles. As for the cars which you had RM in GT5 I tune them up to a group or a championship which suits to it (the Integra will be a WTCC car, the Corvette is an LM car)

PD's race cars are actually really good. Try them. They may be fake but they're really fun and pretty cheap. It's a shame that most people think like you though, I rarely see people racing them online.

Aren't some (if not all) PD concept racing cars based on real racers?

The Acura NSX RM, Impreza RM, Z1 RM, R33 and R32 touring cars are all very similar to real versions.

Can't you just tune them yourself to be closer to the actual one. Yesterday I made Ferrari 458 Italia "GT2", though I'd like to have wider rear tyres on it.
