Hi everyone !

I got the idea of a fictional 80s/90s/2000s production Touring Car championship built entirely from road cars in GT7.

No Gr.4 cars, no engine swaps and no crazy builds. Each model keeps its original engine/drivetrain and receives its own homologation specification: power, minimum weight and permitted modifications.
Sierra RS500, R31, Volvo 240, 190E, Celica GT-Four, Integra, Impreza, M3, Evo and plenty more are being considered.

Those are 4 base models I have made so far.

I’m currently working on the car list (first list below) and initial BoP, so I’d really appreciate some input from experienced GT7 players.

Which road cars would you like to see included, and would anyone be interested in helping test the cars?

If the testing works, the aim is to develop it into a proper online championship.
I’m an automotive artist as well, so all the championship artwork, homologation posters and visual identity will be handmade through my Shakedown Works project.

Suggestions and help for organizing very welcome 👇
 
First, You have to really pay attention to corning G's and downforce when BOP'ing them

The cars on your list have varying Max downforce, and if you're going to have tuning open, this can mean that cars with more Aero have a hugh advantage.

Plus cars with wider tyres, like lets say, an M3 '03 compared to a Sierra Cosworth, due to the high difference in available contact patch, the M3 will be soooo much easier to drive it's not even funny. one way to counter this is to either get the car list also have tier levels, with the easiest cars to drive that are very competitive only available to lower skilled drivers, to give them an edge.

I'm doing pretty much the same for my own custom races.

I've already did a 80's touring BOP, and now working on a 90's one.
Having FF cars on the list, normally you'll have to give them quite a bit more power to compensate their drawbacks in the corners.

While now with Uni and work, I won't have time to join, whish you good luck on this, mate!

Are you going to try to BoP them for the game's sake or run them as real world period specification?
With no engine swaps, some of the older cars may struggle, even tuned to maximum BHP, using the standard engine.

Basic set up(very basic - hence, the one setting sheet) for the 1999 grid. Only parts recommended are 19” BBS RE-CL, BBS RN, OZ CENTER LOCK wheels and Ballast(for the FF Renaults only).

The real cars specs are: 295-320hp/970-975kg(2140lbs). No weight reduction available for these cars. They’re all well balanced and competitive for AI usage. Note the four “Independent“ teams cars(at the bottom of the first picture), have a click less power. To replicate less power than works teams. The red #77 entry, had better equipment, which helped it to run with the works cars.

That’s great information !
Very useful to start with.
I have never organized or try anything such as this before. So I used AI to guide me in the base specs. And I’m testing and adjusting from there.
I am doing all visuals and liveries myself though. The creative part should remain Human.
 
I’d also recommend checking the very leagues in this forum to see how members set up races. See what work and create your own from there.
