absolute trash
tried with it fully tuned and i cant seem to get the cote azur race.
every time i get to the end of lap 4 and the car randomly gets caught on a barrier, it seems it has fenders that are made of plexi glass or something i cant see.

i might get this race one day but either the car is being a jerk or the track has weird barriers that extend further than the pixels do?

The Toyota 7 is awesome !

It's the only car with which BOB can win the Historic Cup without me barking orders at him.

To drive it myself, I found it was a great handeling car with awesome speed.

amazing speed yes.
handling is pretty solid.
my problem is not with the car itself but the fact that it gets caught on barriers in cote

anyone else have this problem?

The Toyota 7 is very capable of winning both Historic cup races. Even Bob nailed them with mine.

Flat out, careful driving is the recipe for success.

No barrier problems here, the car wins easily with no tuning of any sort.

Do you mean in a-spec or b-spec?

I've not had any problems in a-spec with it, but I know what you mean in b-spec - just make sure you slow bob right down before he gets to the chicane (every lap!), then he won't hit the barrier.

i had trouble getting bob to win cote with the toyota 7, i ended up borrowing the ferrari 330 and walked it.

You have to tune the car yourself till it's an easy drive, then give it to Bob and he won't crash (as often!)

Stick with it, it's one of my favourite cars, despite not liking it much at first. Spend the time fixing it up and you'll love it...I've used it in a load of other races now, great traction!

I'm not using bob lol. I'm talking aspec. And I know I don't suck at racing. Maybe I just get too close to the barriers. I'm use to coming within inches of barriers in my fgt. Maybe I just have to spend some time getting used to it. Cheers!

The 1st time i won on there i used a Lambo Countach, more of a challenge, but still won comfortably.
Ive just had a go with it on that Circuit and pretty much won by over half a lap.dont know how your not winning.Maybe you just need to learn the track a bit more?Put some Racing Mediums on, if you havent already.

my B-spec bob gets caught on the barriers
so do i =/ dam toyota 7

There's no harm in using driving aids the first time around to get used to the car.

.. but driving aids won't stop you hitting the barriers ;)

OP - stick at it, and take (very) conservative lines in A-Spec Cote d'Azur.

I found 2 particularly hairy corners - the turn-in at the chicane after the tunnel, and the final corner before the Start/Finish "straight". (The kerbs on the hairpins can be dangerous too).

Take it slow & wide near these, and make up your time attacking under brakes into the first corner up through to the hairpin section, and then around the back after the chicane - they brake more often than necessary around there!

The problem with Bob messing up at the chicane is not his cool/hot attitude. After running the B spec race many times Bob ALWAYS messes up the chicane when he is on the inside of the straight just before the chicane (such as after passing someone). My Bob has taken the chicane at close to full red without messing up when there are no cars to force him to the inside line.

So if you must pass on the straight before the chicane, do it well in advance.

It is a vintage racing machine. It will not handle like mom's grocery getter at 30pmh. It is meant to be on the edge of disaster when you push it to it's limits. That is what separates the men of yesteryear from the boys of today.

Do you not want it? If you do Indy 500 in endurance, then you get the Jaguar XJ13, and that is better(or at least more stable)

Registered just to post this. I'm not sure if there's a separate place to post tuning settings, so please don't yell at me (too loud) if I should've used another thread.

This is how to easily win Cote with a Toyota 7:

Upgrades:
Chassis Reinforcement
Stage 3 Turbo
Soft Racing Tires

Aerodynamics:
60 Downforce 80

Transmission:
Top Speed 162

Suspension:
-10 Ride Height -5
12.0 Spring Rate 17.2

Wheel Alignment:
0.0 Camber Angle 0.5
-0.10 Toe Angle 0.00

Brake Balance:
5 Brake Balance 6

This might not be perfect, but I'm a terrible driver and had no trouble winning with a few assists from the wall.

Drive better and don't hit the barriers. :dunce:

Just kidding. I don't know what it is but I had the same problem a few times at Monaco. Much less issue with it than my Bob had... My God he had to try that race like ten times before he would stop packing it in a barrier and stay stuck their for quite a long time...

I never had such problems...

The Toyota 7 is one ugly, but very good car. Its very forgiving and very easy on tires. My Bob (F. Torres) managed to win the historic car cup with this car without any problems.

Watch your replays in Monaco with chase view. Maybe you really hit the barriers?

The Historic B-spec race drove me nuts. My Bob either slammed into the guard rails and spins out or AI drivers in front of him crash and he wrecks into them. The Toyota 7 was way slower than the Jaguar XJ13 because it constantly hits the rev limiter. I had the use the XJ13 multiple times to try and win. Didn't end up winning until I was a level 34 B-spec.

This car is easier to run on Cote d'Azur without the turbos. It will still be fast enough. Especially on B-Spec, with the turbos installed you need to constantly monitor Bob, since he will screw up at the chicane every lap. Without turbos, he wins with a 10-15 second lead, no problem. 👍

When you get to the chicane part, tell bob to cool down.
If he's hot, he'll crash

I tried today. Aspec I ended up getting 2nd. Maybe I'll try to see if a friend has a 2j on their shared cars.

That 2j is just too fast. Almost caught it. He spun me out on the chicane so maybe next time haha
