Hey! As we're all aware, Daily C is a bit weird this week. It's a tuning daily, which is already very rare, but it's also hosted in Daily C, which is even rarer, but it's also only 12 minutes long, which is such a weird an absurd combination of things to see from a Daily C that I was a bit confused when I first saw the combo pop up this morning. I still think it's a worthwhile race to try though, as its a nice change of pace and challenging as well, as ABS is forced off for all drivers. This tune is intended to be a boilerplate to start from, keeping you competitive with the fastest at bare minimum. I was able to achieve provisional #1 on the leaderboard at the time of posting.

First, some preliminaries

As of posting, the AE86 Levin and Trueno are not available in the UCD, so you need one beforehand to make this tune. For most people that's fine, as the first menu books of the game require you to own a Trueno at some point anyways which most people will still have somewhere in their garage (hopefully not swapped, as the MR-2 engine's turbo cannot be removed which is important for later!). You also need to be collector level 50 in order to access the most horsepower this car can make, or otherwise have "Titanium Connecting Rods and Pistons" and " High Light Camshaft S" obtained from a roulette ticket. The regulations require for less than 226 horsepower, more than 1784lbs of weight, a widebody, racing hard tyres, and natural aspiration only. The car is only capable of reaching 223 horsepower when tuned to the max under natural aspiration, so tuning it is fairly straightforward. When setting the car up, make sure you install the following parts from GT Auto:

Here's the tune!

For the gears, you need set them up using a technique known as gearbox flipping. Essentially this allows you to have a wider and more flexible range of speeds for your gears to reach, which is important for the first gear. The gif linked here provides an easy visual for what you need need to do in order to flip your gearbox.

The tune isn't an end-all-be-all of course, but here's some guidance to make tweaks to match your driving style.

If the car oversteers too much on corner exit, try adjusting the "Initial Torque" setting on the differential up by increments of 5. Try not to exceed 25-30 when doing this though.

If the car is too unpredictable off throttle, try adjusting the "Acceleration Sensitivity" setting down by increments of 5, not going below 30-35.

If you feel like the car could use a bit more rotation, try increasing the natural frequency by .10 increments, testing how it feels along the way. You can also try increasing the rear frequency more relative to the front, e.g. 2.50 / 2.65. Lowering the rear ride height can also help promote oversteer, though it can make the car unpredictable at low speed corner exits.

If you feel like the car wants to step out and rotate around while entering the final corner, consider upping the rear downforce by 10-15 increments until it feels safe for you (though keep it all low as comfortable, as too much rear downforce can lead to unwanted understeer elsewhere). Installing the custom rear wing option allows you access to 50 more rear downforce, for a maximum of 300 if needed (though not recommended).

Hope this small guide helps bring a more balanced & fun environment for the daily throughout the week!
