It’s been nearly seven years since Toyota revealed its Aygo Crazy, which basically had the posterior part of an MR2 welded onto a city car front. The MR2 engine was turbocharged to make 200 hp and an intoxicating wastegate noise too…
With unassisted steering and brakes, racing harnesses and stiff suspension, it’s a very different experience to driving a regular Aygo.

There’s little in the way of soundproofing, and since there’s no firewall between the passenger compartment and engine, you really can hear it.

It’s a really mad way to make an Aygo more exciting and the name Crazy perfectly suits it. However, such a conversion would probably be hugely expensive to undertake on your own, though if you find the right two (damaged) cars, maybe you can work something out…

Can I just ask, what makes this a 2013 year model? It was a one-off in 2007 (or 8?).
The Aygo crazy, from the information I gattered, was created in 2013... The model looks a bit older though, I´m guessing 2010 or so.

As I said, I remember it being featured in Top Gear magazine late 2007-ish.

"In 2008, Toyota created a driveable one-off concept car based on the Toyota Aygo. Named the Aygo Crazy, it was unveiled to the public at the July 2008 British International Motor Show in London, before appearing at other UK-based motor shows that year."

Hell yes. One of first "fun" cars cobbled together after a shake-up at the top in Toyota, following years of dreary tupperware Corollas and Yarises. Gets my vote. Love that pun-tastic name too.👍👍
