Why would they change from the boring doddering vehicles that have made them the second largest car company around?

Exactly!

Why bother the risk of making sports cars when you've got one of the highest status' around?

Perhaps they want to cash in on their excellent F1 track record

Car and Driver liked the IS 350, just a few points down from a BMW 330i in their comparo. According to C&D, the test Bimmer refused to start twice, and had a nagging check engine light appeared on several occasions.

We're still laughing about that my dealership.

The IS250 is available with a manual transmission. But that's the slow, cheap version. The 350 is available with an automatic only, along with all the nannies that suck the fun out of the ugly little thing.

Yes, and who won that one? Beyond that, who else finished ahead of the IS? Yeah, the 'getting-older' G35 circa 2006...

...I'm still laughing at that one, and I don't even work at a dealership...

You know what I'm laughing about? Its not the same thing YSSMAN is laughing about. Its that Toyota had the balls to sell a sport sedan, and a 3 series competitor no less, with only an automatic transmission. Epecially a downer considering how incredibly awesome the Altezza-based IS was.

The problem is that you're thinking of it as a sports sedan, instead of a entry-level luxury sedan with an unusally firm ride and an excessively beefy engine.

Lulz of the day.

Totally missed my point huh?

Either way, would we the rabid fans, love to see this again? Of course we would. Will it happen? Well, I for one will be pleasantly surprised if this is more than a rumor.

Luxury/hard suspension = 0. They cancel, or at least that's what my math teacher told me. And I'm almost positive that's you're point. But since numbers don't lie, I thought I'd illustrate it in a mathematical equation.

So basically it's a car with a large engine. That goes fast in a straight line.

I see MR-2s a lot lately... I miss those cars. Hell I seee a Previa all the time and I miss those too. :dopey:
