Hi Guys,
Hope someone can help here. I just love the Toyota GR Yaris but one thing I have come across is that now and again when racing the rear end for some reason spins out, thus causing me to spin, it feels as if another driver has nugged me from the rear. Not sure if I need to alter my brake balance or what. Any help or info would be great.

Try my tune below it may or may not help you, but you can make slight changes to suit your driving style. With this tune I don't have any spin out issues.

Do you know how to countersteer? That akways works for me.

Avoid putting RSS ( Racing Super soft ) tires at the rear wheels as the car starts sliding and wagging it's tail.

I have those on at the moment. Next time I take her out I will swap over to another type.

In fact, never ever use RSS tires on ANY N Class car. They're not built to have F1 levels of cornering. Sports Soft tires would do.

One thing that helped me stabilize its braking is to move the Brake Balance to -2.

As for the diff:

F/R:

Initial: 5/7
Accel: 15/35
Decel: 10/20

The rear deceleration of the diff must be stronger to make it composed on braking.

On this diff setting, it made the car turn on lift-off, but still stable on exit.

Keep in mind, that the Yaris has a tall height, but short in wheelbase. That combo is DEADLY. Sure, it gives you agility, but any sudden movement will make the car unstable.

Hi, Just had a look at your setting and not sure what system your on but I can't get those gear setting you show. For instance your 2nd gear you have 2.770, I can only go upto 2.549, and the same for all the rest. Only 1t matches to what I can setup

Are you using kmh or mph ?.

Ok reset to default and start again, final gear to 3.800 and then max speed all the way to the left and do the gears and then final gear.
You state two lots of final gear settings, I only got the one option at the end of gears,

Update - Tried all settings and still getting the back end sliding out. This has to be the only car that does this. Many thanks for help

That is strange mate I don't get any of that back end sliding out with the Toyota GR Yaris RZ that you get, that backend sliding out that you get is called Oversteer. I use a wheel and I don't even get any oversteer even using a DS4 that I hardly use, and if I go into a corner to hard I just get a little bit of understeer, but I never get any oversteer on this car.

Hi, If I drive at Brands I always get it as I'm coming into the home straight and again on the first right bend coming out of the home straight. Me thinks its me and not the car. I use a T300/TM 28 wheel along with my g29 pedals

Strange indeed huh. I was racing a mate on the Burg and he was just losing it on most corners and even on a few straights. Both our cars were stock settings too. Quiet bizzare as he is a seasoned player and can control more powerful rwd and no tc cars. I think the game can get bugged on load up and messes with the physics of that car. We’ll probably do another run tonight and hopefully it is a game load up bug.

@Timm I'm having the same issues with controlling the vehicle. I adjusted the the brakes 2 clicks for more rear braking and traction control 5.

I have slightly more control

Later on I will try the car stock & see, and I hope it is not a bug in the game. @sausageman54 I am only using ABS and everting else off on the car and with my tune I posted on hear, I am not getting any oversteer whatsoever.

I have just had a drive with TC on 5 and my BB on -2/3 and still slipping all over the shop. As I said earlier never had this sort of response in any other cars. Very strange.

It is so strange you still having issues even if you are on TC 5, and I get none off this slipping all over the shop. I only use ABS and everything else off and the car is very stable in the corners, even the last 2 corners at Brands Hatch GP Circuit the Toyota GR Yaris just sweeps around them corners at speed.
The same goes with the first corner at Brands it just sticks to the road at high speed though that section, and all corners at Brands.

It’s a tough little bugger, lol

I’ll look into it.

The back ends slides with any tires if you turn very tight. Changing the tires doesn't seem to help.

Can you do stupid crap like running SH front, SS rear to induce less grip on the front.

I found the stock tune to be slightly oversteery however that random tune I found on YT sorted that out.

NOw I find it understeery on SH to RH tyres.

I've had this problem as well. I raced it on Dragon Trail and in a few corners, every lap it would completely loose control. After a while I managed to counter steer fast enough to go through to the next corner, but it is a complete pain in the ass. When I tried to go through that same corner 2 (!) gears lower and without touching the accelerator and brake pedal, it still slid of. It's very irritating and nothing has helped so far.

Hi.
I´ve been playing since GT3.
I have 250 cars in Gt Sport, gold in all challenges, licenses and races (but Endurance series) and the Toyota Yaris Rz is the only one that with modifications or not(stock) keeps sliding.
I understand they are working on GT7, but at least they could fix the latest car they introduced no?
It´s a shame because the Yaris is not a bad car, it can reach medium high speeds (280-300 KM/H)
I use the normal DS4, latest GT SPORT update 1.62.
At the moment the car is almost useless unless you use it at Special Stage Route X.

Out of curiosity, I've just tried it with stock settings, comfort medium tires and no ABS around the 'ring - it doesn't feel better or worse than virtually every other N300 car - nothing like the '81 Porsche Turbo, which certainly can be a handful. "Almost useless" it certainly isn't.

Maybe you're applying too much steering angle and throttle at the same time?

I used the 81 Porsche the other day, fully modified at the Professional premium cars races, it´s not that hard to control.
As i said, i´m good at the game, not good enough to go to Real online championships and win, but good enough to have gold in every license, win even with worse cars that the AI and players if they don´t cheat (which they usually do).
For example, The damn Yaris with stock settings starts sliding in the final curve at Monza, but it happens in most curves, that is not normal, some heavily modified cars slide a bit but it can be controlled.
It´s not normal this behavior, it´s the only car giving me trouble.

Do you use a DS4 ?, because I don't have any trouble using a wheel.
