Question: Why this car should be in GT6?
Answer: Because this car was the 1998 JGTC GT300 class champion.
This MR-2 made an JGTC GT300 debut in 1997 with 2 retirements and a victory (GT300 class) in 3rd round, 5th place (class GT300) in 4th round and a 3rd (class GT300) in 6th round.
In the following year, in 1998, MR-2 scored 5 victories in possible 7 rounds, despite of 2nd round being cancelled and despite of having finished 6th in Motegi. This MR-2 was crowned as champion of GT300 class with 106 points, 60 points over the runner-up, Manabu Orido with Toyota Celica ST205.
In 1999, the #25 MR-2 has changed its colours to red and yellow. Once again, the MR-2 became an double champion with a single victory, despite of Nissan NISMO Silvia S15's 4 victories.
In 2000, the SW20 was replaced by ZZW30 which would obtain more three GT300 championship titles to the Toyota heritage with ARTA (2002), Team Reckless (2005) and Toy Story APR MR-S (2007).
The blue livery has some differences.
