Hey all,

I’d love to see the first-gen Toyota Previa (Estima) added to GT7.
It’s already hiding in the game — you can spot it in a Scape (Grand Lower, Los Angeles) as a background car 👀

It’s that cool mid-engined egg-shaped van Toyota made in the 90s.
Would be awesome to drive something like that in GT — a proper 90s family van with real character and weird engineering.

There's a pinned thread in this forum detailing how you should title your threads.

Suffice to say this one does not meet those requirements.

Got it — fixed the title now, thanks for pointing that out! 👍
I think we can stretch to putting a generation in though - which I've done for you.

Incidentally, by going for 1990 you've ruled out the supercharged model you mentioned in the text (it was introduced in 1993). It's up to you how specific or generic you want to go really; it's fine as it is, if any-first-gen-pre-facelift Previa is all you want, but if you want an AWD supercharged model more than anything else your post should reflect that.

Toyota Previa (XR20) 1993
Okay, I see you've changed it to 1993 now, but again there's not enough information. Per the pinned thread:
In all cases [Year] must be a four digit year and the first year of production or competition unless a specific year of production or competition is required.
If you just want a first-gen Previa, the first year of production is 1990. If you have a specific model in mind, this should be reflected in the title rather than simply putting a random year in.

I'm assuming now that you are specifically after the supercharged model, in which case you should research what the name of the supercharged model was and put that in your title.

As we never got it in the UK - our Previa was the standard 2.4-litre and rear-wheel drive only - I can't remember what the European market supercharged model was. I suspect it's a higher-trim: depending on the market, we got GS, GL, GLI, GX, GLI, and various named special editions. But it's not my thread and you should be looking it up to find out what it is and putting it into your title.

I do know that in the USA it was introduced for the first-gen update in 1994 (MY95, but MY is stupid) and came on LE and LE All-Trac (AWD) models - added to the lower-spec DX the next year, but not DX All-Trac - so if it was a US-market car and you wanted the high-spec AWD car your title should be "Toyota Previa (XR20) LE All-Trac S/C 1994". That's just an example though, as I'd guess as a European you'd want the European car.

This is why the information and guidance in the pinned threads exists. Also at least one image would be nice.

Toyota Previa GL (XR10) 1990
I see that you have now changed it back to 1990 again, but changed the chassis code to XR10...

... which as far as I'm aware is the narrow-body, Japanese-market Estima Lucida/Emina (introduced in 1991) only, while the title is still Previa and your image is an American-market AWD Previa, and you've specified GL in the title which is neither a US-market trim for the first-gen Previa nor for the Estima at all.

This all remains very confusing with regards to what actual vehicle you're intending to suggest.

Oops, didn’t check the facts properly 😅 Ended up going with the more common 2WD XR10 instead of the supercharged 4WD.

But again, as far as I know the XR10 is the narrow-body Estima Emina/Lucida specific to the Japanese market. The regular Previa is the XR20.

And your image is the US-market Previa (in AWD).

And the year has now changed again to 1991, which isn't the first year of production of the Previa and there's no specific reason given for choosing this year.

Help us out here: what actual car are you trying to Suggest?

Apologies for the earlier confusion 😅. This is actually a Previa XR20 (1991), the more common 2WD version rather than the supercharged 4WD. It’s really fun to drive, and I just wanted to share it here for clarity.

This is actually a Previa XR20 (1991)
Again, why 1991? 1991 isn't the first year of production of the Previa, and you've given no reason for picking that year.

I've already edited it back to fit the requirements once this morning only to find you've gone and undone that again... Don't do that again.

Got it 👍 Thanks for the clarification. I changed it originally because the Previa name was first used outside Japan in 1991, but I understand the rule about using the first year of production, so 1990 makes sense here. I’ll leave it as that.

Nope. First UK press drives in July/August 1990, launched to the public in September 1990, and on sale that month. Other European markets were likely similar.

Thanks for the clarification. I had changed it to 1991 because I believed the Previa name wasn’t introduced outside Japan until that year. But if the UK launch was indeed in September 1990, that clears it up. Appreciate the correction!

I'm confused, I barely know what I'm voting for. But it seems like it's not the supercharged version so I'm taking my vote back.
