I know this is considered a very low emission vehicle because of its engine(hybrid).
What I was wondering was because the prius shut and on its engine frequently to save fuel. So, for short trips, the engine may not be up to operating temperature or take longer and the catalyzer may not function well because of lack of heat.
So, have the engineers sovled this?

With these kind of usage, what kind of engine oil should the prius use? Cold starts, operating at less than optimum temperaure....
