“With only one race in the U.S. it is difficult for fans to experience F1 and to get an idea of the technology behind it. Ricardo and the crew are looking forward to being part of the demonstration runs, showcasing the evolution of Formula 1 car construction, and giving fans the opportunity to encounter F1 live and up-close in the garage.”
It would be so cool, if they actually had another F1 League to cover the rest of the world. That way, two leagues can meet for the championship, like in other sports. :D

If you live near Laguna Seca, you should go. It should be a lot of fun.

laguna seca is an amazing track. but isnt it kind of a short track for f1? :p i dunno i'd love to see some onboard

They'd have to build some pit garages, for a start.

Good to see Toyota speading the F1 experience. 👍 to them.

And I think that F1's can't handle the corkscrew without bottoming out.

I'd say that if you mean they can't handle it without bottoming out, I'm with out !... And I can see all sorts and shapes of carbon fiber leftovers from frontwings spread over a large area as well...

What rest of the World ?... I'm fairly sure F1 covers most of the world - 'cept North America - And you guys don't care anyway.... (Well - Most of you)

Well, Toyota wouldn't go there do they?

I'd love to see an onboard cam 👍

Yeah, I guess they got most of the world covered. I still think they can organize enough races for two leagues though. Don't take this too seriously, I'm just thinking out loud. ;)

Cool stuff like F1 and WRC are pretty much ignored by mainstream. Not so much because people don't care, but IMO, it's due to the politics of the organizers and the media. Sort of a power struggle, if you will.

Wow, great vid. But I bet that the car's stiff suspension combined with the rough track shook his fillings out. :D

Toyota now has videos of the event, including ONBOARD FOOTAGE! :D
Be honest. How many of you spent countless hours trying to achieve the record lap time on Laguna Seca in the GT3 with your F1 car? I came close, but I could never cut it under a minute! Thanks for the link, Jordan. Great videos. 👍

It could surely go even faster if they were using a set-up specifically for that track. I wonder which settings they were using there? Which Grand Prix circuit is most like Laguna Seca?

And they don't come much stiffer than that.

I belive I've gotten a mid 0:59.xxx lap around Laguna Seca in a stock F1 car in GT4. I was interested just to see how quick I could go. then when I cut a bit of time off, I found a bit more. then a bit more, then a bit more. and eventually I was below 1 minute and I couldn't go any faster. I'll check on GT4 tonight to see what the exact time was.

rock.

They've had garages for over a year and a half now.

Ah. Thank you :) I based that on 6 year old information, when the US GP was looking for a home, and that was one of the reasons Laguna Seca wasn't in the running back then.

I'd say, judging by the way his head was shaken all over the place, especially through and after the corkscrew, on the video.
