In a twist probably nobody saw coming, Jari-Matti Latvala will succeed Tommi Mäkinen at the Toyota Gazoo Racing WRC team. Perhaps the most noteworthy thing is that Mäkinen had no word in it - he wasn't even asked - and the choice was made by the Japanese side of the operations. Latvala is young, he's not an experienced businessman or team leader, but it seems that the main reason for his selection was his genuineness as a person.
