Alright, so I am completely new to the whole tuning thing. I never really messed with it because I didn't understand it. I am replaying GT5 abd now I would like to learn track tuning to improve upon myself. Anyone care to kinda explain the basics to me? I only seek knowledge here and not your tunes you worked hard for. I believe in learning for myself but advice and teaching are much appreciated. After all, how will I learn if I don't ask? 👍 Thanks to all who help me.

Hi there,

There is a lot of information to be found on the first page of Motor City Tunes. A lot of valuable information that is!

Hope it helps. I am in the same situation as you.

Regards,
Doblo

Some advice I could offer is just to play around with everything. When you enter the tuning menus there is going to be a question mark icon, click it and it will give you some hints on how everything in that section ( either the Transmission, LSD, or the Suspension which ever you're working on ) works and how to set it up. It takes some time to get a real feel for it but it gets really fun when you have the basic idea down. 👍

I will do that right now then. I have been wanting to learn this for a long time but never could figure out how. Lol

Driftin has it right :)

Copying other peoples tunes will not get you to a point where you understand tuning. BUT getting some GTP Garage tunes (and there is lots of good garages here) is a good start.

I would recommend getting a tune, race with it, change one variable, see how it affects, then set it back. Do this again for each variable and soon enough you will start understanding. As you play with more settings in combination then you'll see how the system interacts.

I am really trying my best. Haha. I want to be ready to go when GT6 releases. I have th biggest urge to learn out there and I am very thankful for the advice. As for tunes I'm the kind of racwr who would rather read and understand whats going on rather than "copt" a tune. Noone ever succeeded by copying. True? :P
