So I'm here with lots of questions to ask. But the main one that bothers me the most is the simply fact that I have NO idea what I am doing when it comes to track tuning. I want to learn so bad but have yet to find a good mentor whom would actually teach me something. I habe the will and strive to learn, just not the teacher. So please guys, HELP!! Any and all feedback and knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

First place to look would be Hami's guide in his Motor City Tunes thread. Can't give you link at the moment, but the thread is normally on the first page of tuning forum.👍

What kind of cars are you driving that you want tunes for it? Is it a tuner, exotic, muscles, 4x4s, rallies, race cars, etc? Because there are many cars in GT5 to have only one general tune.

The main thing I drive in races is RWD or AWD. To be honest to I would like to learn to tune them all. Haha. After all theres a lot of drivetrains out there to use.

If you want to learn how to tune all of them, it can be a very complicated thing. But if you want that, then go for it. Ask some guys who make tunes for the cars and also own tuning garages.

That I will. I love the games as much as any fan through years, I just never got into fine tuning the cars. Now that 6 is on the way I had better learn. Lol

I see you've been to Hami's thread, but this is the guide I was thinking of - it will give you a good handle on the basics.

Basic tunes using this info will get you started and should give improvements over stock cars/settings. Hami has also helpfully put quick tunes in his OP.

Helpful bunch of links here too: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=204024

As a recent and distinctly amateur tuner I can give you a couple of bits of beginner advice:

The help in GT5 is actually fairly helpful.

Don't just drop everything to floor and make springs a dampers really firm :dopey:.

Make a base set up then adjust one or two things at a time, otherwise you won't know what has made a difference.

Use the tunes already available - there are thousands here - to see how the 'pros' have done it and learn from them.

A well setup car can give you good improvements, however the biggest improvements in times, are made from better, smoother driving and really learning the tracks and lines.👍

I think that too has a major role in my weaknesses. I am not the best at cornering and braking at all. I have put for many an hour learning apex's and braking lines and have made small improvements but nothing major yet.

Have you done any of the license tests yet? Although they can be boring, it gives you a chance to practice on certain areas that you might struggle with while learning sections of the tracks. Like Woodski said: Learning the tracks and your driving style are key, so you can focus on what needs tuning on the car to make it comfortable for you. Best of luck and hope to see you out there!:)

I have done the B Lisence all gold. Thats just cause I didn't give up till I did. I am having trouble with the Shoemaker S in A Lisence tho

I am trying to learn how to tune cars better I am not that good of a tuner every time I tune a car t see no change in speed

Depending on how you tune a car, you can see an actual difference in terms of handling and speed.

I'm in the same boat as you and found that" Photo Finish Racing" in the tuning forum a really good place to start. Cheers!
