A lot of fuss has been made about cars in Forza 5, and why not? It's a car game after all. But what is a car game without race courses? Forza 4. That car game is Forza 4.

Joking aside, with the move to a new generation and all the laser-scanned updates and additions that entails, what changes to the current courses are you crossing your fingers and toes for in Forza 5?

Personally, I'd welcome the death of irradiated neon grass and foliage. Also, if T10 could not make le Sarthe not look like a washed-out acid trip again, that'd be peachy. Lastly, a complete overhaul of Fujimi would be nice. No more muddy diarrhea mountains, weird stretched road textures and expanses of cardboard trees.

So how about you?

To not state the obvious, an overhauled Ring would be very much welcomed. Include the 24hr version!!

I personally would like to see Laguna Seca updated to better match that of iRacing's.

Being that there won't be day/night cycles, more options for time of day on all tracks would be nice.

I'm going to assume that due to the new lighting engine, we should see a drastic improvement in how the tracks look. Of course, creative license may still cause them to make the grass a little greener (though I've never really noticed that on my TV in the first place).

Hopefully we'll see the same level of atmosphere shown in Prague on other tracks.

Since none of them are currently I would hope most if not all real tracks are re-done with a laser scan. Nordschliefe is obviously priority.

One of FM5s largest bullet points is all real world tracks being laser scanned...

Well yeah, but did they specify whether it was all NEW (to Forza 5) real-world tracks that were going to be laser-scanned, or ALL real-world tracks?

The former I could understand. But the latter seems like much more work than anybody at T10 is willing to put into the game.

Unless they could find a way to pay some company from Cambodia $.50 to re-scan the tracks.

All real world tracks is what they've said.

Also, Badned from Forza Central hinted heavily at the Nurburgring getting updated.

Laser scanning would leave little to no room for error, so you can say the Ring will be updated.

I hope to see Monza, Willow Springs, Watkins Glen, Bathurst, Circuit of the Americas, Spa just to name a few.

Laser scanning seems like it would be less time consuming than constructing the entire thing by hand from GPS data and photos.

Clearly the ring would be the one I hope they scanned. I also hope they add the 24 hr layout as well.

Like people said before the Nurburgring must be updated. And since this wasn't in Forza Horizon ( Shame on you Turn 10 ) we must have the Pikes Peak Hill Climb.

People that don't follow motorsports probably don't know this, but Silverstone has seen a lot of updating in recent years. Not only does it have whole new facilities, but the circuit used by F1 is longer, though crappier.

^^ Great suggestion Bopop4!

Since they're ditching night racing and weather, it would be really nice to see different versions of real world tracks. Not different layouts, but different versions from different eras. Not only The Ring, but other famous and sought after tracks too.

And please bring back the complete Rally Di Positano. Fujimi needs a complete overhaul no doubt.

A track list that includes AT LEAST 12 *NEW* tracks would be super!

I'm looking especially forward to updates to the Nurburgring and Le Mans. With the addition of realistic mist and godrays, just imagine racing in those conditions.

Spa inclusion is virtually assured as it appears as a background for one of the racing series in the in game menus seen at e3.

Nurburgring is my number 1 priority for an update.

Maple Valley could look spectacular with the new graphic engine.

Silverstone Forza vs GT6 is greatly different, so would like to see that updated.

If we're including new tracks then Monaco and Bathurst.

Forgive me for being :dunce: here, but are you asking for T10 to replace something you think was better for something you think is worse?

Since Silverstone was updated guys have been screaming for it, and hating on T10 for not following suit. Reading the official forums post-FM3 was a joke. People seemed to be requesting the track, just to (and bash on T10).

Frankly the updated track is a joke imho. It's terrible in anything other than high down force cars - which exactly what it was designed for to keep the F1 contract - where pre-2010 it was a joy to drive in any car. I've never really heard anyone compliment Silverstone since from a drivers perspective, even in the F1 commentary they only talk about the old corners being spectacular, and the Moto GP pundits claim the track is no longer suited to bikes. :yuck:

I'm glad we got another two years in FM with this track. T10, if you must update, please keep the pre-2010 version so I don't have to drive the new one ever.

Aside from that rant, I'm confident every track in FM5 will be visually equal. No real reason to believe otherwise. My main concern is the possibility of dropping tracks they didn't have time to update. Looking forward to a laser-scanned Tsukuba. Excellent time-attack track.

I was thinking the other day as I circulated Tsukuba in my '92 Galant VR-4 about the increased (relative to FM4 and to the larger tracks which require more assets) level of detail T10 will be able to impart to the smaller circuits in the game.

I can't wait to see how great short tracks like Tsukuba and Laguna Seca (especially in need of a visual overhaul) and so on will look thanks to the power of the cloud.

Oh man, Sebring is such an eyesore in Forza (and real life). I hope T10 turn down the brightness/bloom/contrast on that god-forsaken glorified trailer park for F5. Or at least set it at a different time of day than nuclear supernova afternoon.

I found that bloom and contrast thing is largely down to what car you're driving. You drive in cockpit view? In road/street cars it's much less pronounced. In anything GT or prototype it's almost undriveable. I think it's a bug with the new lighting engine and certain windscreens. Same for Laguna too. It's a same because those are the cars that are synonymous with those tracks
