I couldn´t find a thread about this so i took the liberty to create one, point me to the right one if it´s already been brought up.

I find the tracks being more slippery when driving online. Ex. when i drive my NSX Stealth in GT Life or at practice on Highspeed ring or Nürburing I can take corners faster and some corners at full throttle but online on the same tracks and with the same car (and tyres) i spin out instantly.

How come?

There is a big thread on it in the online racing section. Unfortunately, it's like almost every other discussion, everyone has an opinion but no one really knows.

I have found that it affects some cars more than others, that that only applies to some tracks. On Cape Ring, my NSX is almost uncontrollable using my offline setup, the same car with same setup on Monza online track handles as good or better than offline.

Yeah........ or sunspots

Well, it could be lag in the sense that it might not be enough to visually be noticable, but other things might be affected. For example, your actual speed might be more or less than what the speedometer is showing. If you play shooters, there is something called bullet lag, where the bullets reach the target at a delay.

I personally feel the tracks have less grip, after practice at nurburgring with my f2007 it eithers sticks o the road or spins out(almost never). But online at nurburgring i found myself losing traction and laying down some rubber in almost every corner.

The physics are different for online play then they are for single player. You are still able to take the corner at the same speed but tires get worn down a lot online and it takes a bit of getting used to but the online physics are a bit better imo.

I suggest looking at the tire temperature/wear indicator. For online racing, you get both tire wear/temp as well as fuel consumption. You'll notice that on a shorter track (ie. not the Nurburgring Nordschleife), by the third lap or so the tire would stick better to the pavement but as they wear out, so will the adhesion. For most part I find when the tire is at its optimal (online), the time I'd do is similar to the one I'd do off-line.

My taughts:

A car in practicemode is a car with DRY weight and warm tyres. When you go online, the cars fule weight is added and the tyre temperature is also cold.

I drove a lot of laps online to reduce my fuel load. When it was almost empty, I did a pit stop and changed tyres, got them warm.. And voaila.. My best time ever on that track (Offline or online).. So my guess is that the physics are more realistic online.

Just my 2..

I taught your taughts add up to aughts not 2....

Aha, ok.. You answer my post because of gramatics? Sorry.. In sweedish it sounds right.. :)

I just wish the whole world knew sweedish...

I ran one test so it isn't scientific but I was only about .20 sec faster offline than online on the track I tested on.

Please continue the discussion in this thread.
