With the new Time Trial I discovered a great track...Rome/Reverse.

The normal Rome, to me, is a nice looking track, but not a very good one. The right-hander around the coliseum is tricky and doesn't have a good flow. And the turn coming off the back stretch should be named suicide corner as it goes downhill straight into the barrier with no runoff.

However, Rome/Reverse has it exactly right. It has better flow and makes more sense.

Are there any other "reverse" versions of tracks that are better than their "forward" counterparts?

I think the High Speed Ring is better in reverse. And also Tokyo R246, specifically the last section that's so hard forwards, but a lot better backwards.

I think the only good track in reverse is Circuito de Madrid Mini. But that's because that's the only form the game ever seems to dump you on and therefore I'm a lot more used to that. Everything else I'm much more comfortable with forwards.

I like HSR in reverse, but I love Rome in its natural layout. It's great for testing the layout of a car because it will show you any chassis tuning flaws. It also requires a certain level of skill to drive quickly.

I feel exactly the other way around (no pun intended) about Rome, I like the normal layout far more than the reverse one, although I mostly enjoy the normal ones more than the reverse ones it has to be said.
There are quite a few which I enjoy both equally but I can't seem to think of an example whereby I like the reverse layout more.

Rome
Grand Valley East
Deep Forest Raceway

My favorite reverse tracks, but normal way is good too.

So not better than original, just fun.

SSR5 is definately the hardest, I just cna't find the flow through the chicanes or the hairpin. But still fun as a real challenge

I think High Speed Ring is much better in reverse.
I personally thought Seattle reverse was better too after playing a bit of it on the PSP.

Edit: I forgot about Autumn Ring reverse too. Really liked that after running it a lot in the Ferrari seasonal.

Have you ever thought about real life circuits driven in reverse way...? I think Spa would be nice in reverse.

I have to agree with the OP. Rome backwards is so much better for the reasons he gave. That left / right onto the back straight is still tricky but when you get it right and barely brush the wall on the right , its a rush ! Getting that section perfect is critical to a good lap time as you have probably discovered with this seasonal.

I also prefer Deep Forest in reverse. That fast right into the first tunnel (turn 2) is better coming up the hill and it feels like you can take that corner much quicker than in the normal direction.

I find its an excellent flowing circuit in reverse, much better than the normal way

Midfield was great forward and reverse.

Thinking about this really makes me wonder why they made a-spec so short. Racing a track in reverse is really like racing a whole different track! I mean they have so many track variations that they could have added so many more races...even considering all the old tracks that they left out.

Tokyo R246, I don't like the forward layout but the reverse I do, its just so much better in my opinion.

Madrid Full flows much better in reverse, and I'll throw in another vote for GVE-R as well.

Suzuka East for drifting.

what just about to put that! the best part is when you manji up the straight and then the LONG ebrake to make it around the final corner.

Grand Valley East, Rome, Circuito de Madrid, Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, SSR5 (crazy), Eiger Nordwand Short, Eiger Nordwand K...

I've never ever, ever, driven reverse variations in any Gran Turismo, I can't believe it. Imma do it now!

Edit: Except for Eiger Reverse in Prologue.
