Traded car with DLC paint, did not receive the paint?

I heard that if you trade a car with a DLC color added on it, you would receive that color with the car.

I recently traded with someone and found that this car had one of the military DLC colors, GT MILITARY 002-W, instead I got a charcoal color.

Is this supposed to happen?

Can someone clear this up for me? Thanks.
 
If you re-paint a car and trade it, the colour the person you are trading to receives is the original colour the car came in when it was bought.
 
You get the car painted in the DLC colour and you get the chip of the car's original colour.

You do not get the DLC chip unless you buy the DLC.
 
Yes you till get the color the car was originally bought as for the car, not the DLC paint chip.

The best cars to get the DLC paint are RM's because they don't have an original colour.
