Traffic Cruising Online

Hey guys , I just created some very long Courses in the Coursemaker (Toscana),very winding and narrow. That it feels like an actual street.
The idea is to drive on an actual traffic like street with it's speed limit.
I hosted it online and someone joined me. We had fun cruising around for more than an hour.
With 16 cars on the track it could be even more fun. Overtaking at the right section or just a lined up traffic cruise. In one or both directions.
Well for the hardcore racers maybe the most boring thing ever...
But I like it and the person I did it with suggested me to post this idea here.

So maybe there are some other people who are interested in that.
Then we could meet up and have fun.
The meeting is maybe better, because there was a third person joining us , and had nothing better to do than crashing into us.. >> KICK.

So anyone likes the idea? :)

I've created a lot of tracks in the course maker too that have given me this same idea. The tracks wouldn't be that good to race on but are great fun to drive on, especially at closer to realistic speeds (less than 100mph). I've also thought of having 2 way traffic because Mt. Aso and Toscan both have lines in the middle of the road making 2 lanes. That's one thing we've rarely experienced in GT5, on-coming traffic! That would mean you'd have to be patient if you want to overtake someone.

The best way to do this is to organize it through here and get a big group of people who are onboard with it so you can do it through private lounges. If you try to do it in a public lounge you'll end up with jag off's that won't play nicely. You could have designated nights for it and just have a lounge open for a few hours so anybody could come and go as they please.

You could also use the forum to setup some kind of themes for the different nights, like maybe a night with all British or Japanese cars, or all Exotics, or set a certain PP limit on some nights and just see what people show up with! It would kind of be a car show and cruise-in all in one! 👍

I know, It sounds like a great idea. It really would be 'The REAL driving simulator."
 
This is not that new i do this many times but then we also use the pace car that is the cop then and when somebody break the speedlimited the cops go and het him .
 
No, it's not a new idea, but there isn't an organized group for it that I know of. If we actually set it up with a certain format where everybody knows the rules then it would work better, I think. If enough people get onboard with it, then there could almost be a lounge open every night depending on who's able to host on that night, so we could always find some good cruising and there wouldn't be a need for a cop. :)

And I personally think it would be cool to have different themes of cars. You could do a 1 lap race at some point and have everybody meet up in a certain area to park. Then the replay could be saved so we could get pictures of all the cool cars for the different themes. Great way to put our custom tracks to use too! 👍
 
Also, Think about the games we could do. We could start a one lap race with 1 cop and 1 robber (maybe 2 cops) and the rest would drive around casually while the robber must complete a lap without an accident ;)

👍 I remember in the NFS carbon track glitch (lets you free roam) me and my friend would both do this.If I could stop/trap him for ~5 sec I would win.Good time's...What you propose the cop car be?

The GT-R Pace Car would get the most votes :)
 
Was this about 2 hours ago coz I think I might have been in ur lobby
 
It's quite fun. Was in a lobby last night with speedlimit at 90 km/h in the narrow parts and 130 km/h at the straight(s).
Madrid + CoteduAzzurrh (sp?) MONACO worked fine, at Le Sarthe (sp. again) it only took about 5 minutes before it was an Autobahn...
A cop is needed, -and as said above, it can go wrong really fast in open lobby's, so a fair but strong leader
(think North Korea and add the smell of petrol :) ) is a must I guess.
Traffic both ways is scary when trying to overtake in a really fast car. I've never driven anything fancy in real life, but
coming from cruising speed in gt5 and doing an overtake, just to realize that something is approaching... :nervous:
And removing the trackmap from the hud is adding alot to it.

I guess I'm in :)

Post your room number when doing these lobbies. I would be interested in joining in and just cruising around.

Rolling burnouts and other hooligan acts could be fun stuff. Obviously there would be a respect level for speed and other cars.
