INSTRUCTIONS

~The lap must be run in Arcade Mode > Single Race> Original Circuits > Trail Mountain
~The tires must be set to Sports Mediums (SM)
~Driving aids allowed.(TCS only)
~No changing power settings.
~No changing weight settings.
~No changing top speed settings.
~Tire wear setting on mild /strong
~Transmission AT/MT is yours to choose.
~No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
Stay on the pavement at ALL times.
No shortcuts allowed (eg: Trail mountain thru the dirt right before the finish line)
~Use the cars underneath only.

Before I begin, GT5 will hit the stores, I believe somewhere in summer of 2010(crossing-fingers). I recently started playing GT4 again (it’s been a while) and randomly decided to see if anybody could beat these lap times or just add your own. I want to see if there is anybody as good like me or better.:cheers:

Everything is stock and I didn't mess with any settings. Just followed the instructions I provided, so it's fair without car tuning anything.

Why are you requiring us to use Single Race Mode? Wouldn't Time Trial be more logical if you want our fastest lap times? :confused:
 
I'm trying to make it equal for everyone to play with. Therefore, if I change the tires or settings, then I change the whole aspect of who is truly the fastest.

The reason why with single mode is too add the tear wear, because with tire wear you who to have adjust your line every time you race the course.

FYI: Blue tires isn't always the "best" for fastest time laps. It's usually the yellow I get the fastest lap. You're still being timed on single race.You heard. Haha.

For example: I use 14 laps to get an idea of the course and the tires.

Yeah, I thought that you might be using Single Race for the tire wear factor, but wouldn't AI cars potentially interfere, as well? It also gives a narrow window in which to set your fastest time - when the tires are yellow, as you said - that takes quite some time to reach, so if you make mistakes during that window on your first attempt, then you won't have a chance to remedy them easily. It's certainly more realistic, given that in real life, other cars are usually occupying the track with you, and tires have a warm-up period and a finite lifespan. But I don't think that it will be agreeable to many people because the factor of ease and immediacy is somewhat lacking. Still, I'll try it.

Austin343. Actually, I'm not racing the computer, I'm racing the course. (Not speaking condensending) But if you know your fast enough...you don't have to comtemplate about passing the AI in the entire race.

For this course, you may put the difficult setting from 0, so that no cars will interfere.

For practice, I usually the tailgate my opponent, and when there is a opening I take it. Then I do it again and again. The best learning tool is when I like to do it on the turns than pure monster hp on the straights. That's too easy for me. Bottome line, it's about planning an attack without laying a scratch or minimal damage to the other opponent.

That is why I can't wait to play gt5 online. The only thing,I just have to seperate the dirty drivers and the respectable clean-line drivers. I just hate bumpers.

I've read that GT5 will bring that effect into play. That is good to hear. For years and years, I waited for a decent online server, but I'd never found one. It was either laggy or fail connection.

When i use to play a lot, I would setup LAN parties at my house and only a few understood clean line and when it was approriate to overtake the guy afront of him. I like find race gamers with that type of caliber.

The best way to figure it out if people post their times for the fastest lap.

Oh, of course the AI won't actually make a difference. They drive even more slowly than usual in Arcade Mode, and Trial Mountain is one of their weakest tracks, regardless. I set it to +10 in order to ensure that I would not have to lap it and, unsurprisingly, I passed the field before T2 on lap 1. I ended up with a fastest lap of 1'35.091 in the same car you chose (which was the fastest on the list that you gave us). But I wasn't quite sure how to interpret the rule of "stay on the pavement at all times;" in GT competitions, the standard is to require keeping two tires on any hard surface at all times, but in case you meant that all four wheels had to remain on tarmac and rumble strips, I did a lap under that requirement of 1'35.338. The strong tire wear that I was using, combined with my hard driving style, meant that the tires were dark orange by the end of the ninth lap, when I exited.
 
Awesome. You didnt cut thru the grass before the finish line? Did you??? Because that will give you a 1 or 2 sec advantage. If you did everything correctly and not take shortcuts....ill be pretty amazed.:scared:

But I have to get back to you on the Honda NSX type R Concept `01.

I wrote down on a piece of paper consisting of horsepower, wieght, torque on each of the cars I listed and other portion of acceleration, handling, tire durability, and brakes.

I dont think the Honda NSX type R Concept `01 is one of the highest when it came down to hp. Ill get back to you on that. All i remember is that I rated the NSX one of the best handling, if not thee best.

Ill write the list to everyone...the difference of each individual car pertaining the 3 things I mention and other portion.

Of course I didn't. I can record a video of the lap if you'd like.

The NSX is one of the lowest in horsepower, but is also one of the lightest, and although the BMW is a little bit nicer to drive, the NSX seems to have more outright grip. Both the M3 and the Supra are reasonably close to the NSX in terms of lap times, though.

The two laps that I mentioned came in succession, so I recorded them both.



It's too bad that starting at lap 7 means that there's no way in which to verify the power and tires (there's never a way to verify weight from a replay), but I assure you that I did use your specifications. I could have gone faster by putting two tires in the dirt in several places, by "drifting" around a couple of corners, or by using some of the car's redline, but I thought that each of those went against the spirit of this competition.

This is making me wanna beat your time. Good. I wish I could have the pleasure of racing you in a friendly match. I guess I have to until GT5 comes out. That time is ridiculous. I tried diligently, but I couldn't find the solution of beating your time. I like challenge.

These results were written approximately 6-8 months on my index cards at my prime, except the 1’36.846 Honda NSX type R Concept `01 done recently.
