Tranny sounds

Just wondering why when I have the stock tranny all I hear are the engine sounds, but when I do a customized tranny it sounds like a jet engine spooling up, and pretty much drowns out the sound of the engine. Is there a way to turn off the sound of the tranny whine, and just be able to hear the sound of the engine?

You can reduce the transmission sound in the options.

It's because the stock transmission has helical gears, while the customized transmission has straight cut gears.
