I need some advice on how to make the best transmission tune on a lowered hp car to get the best lap times. Example: 892 hp detuned to 850 hp. Please don't throw any links at me as I have read them all and either don't fully understand them or the don't contain info I'm looking for on detuned cars. Really having trouble understanding the power curve, torque, and all that other stuff so explaining it to me in the simplest of terms is best, lol. Thanks PS. Yes it is a NASCAR car for the online time trial that I'm trying to get right. Currently in the top 50 but feel I can do better with a proper trans tune.

its mathematical. Cars with the same power and torque can have varying power bands. The power band is what you should be basing your transmissions ratios on. All i can say is you want to be able to stay in youre torque curve, after shifting you want your gear ratios to be set so youll be at more torque after the shift which might mean not shifting at redline. I always try to find time in other places rather than the transmission so i cant really help otherwise. Good luck

Good morning my friend. Look i don't know this track, never drive or just a few my carl edward 2011 fusion, don't have a tune for this small track with a lot of oversteer acceleration.... anyway, only with this gear setting i was able to do ranking 3600 in 2 laps. This is the key to go fast there. Try this and tell me, this is a classic "short gears method".

If the numbers don't match with other model you're using, just need to do something close to this on the graphic of the panel settings.

Proceed like this:
- 1-reset

2-Final gear at 5.000

3-top speed full left 290 kmh=180 mph

4-Set gears ratios
1st 2.033
2nd 1.619
3rd 1.314
4th 1.099

5- final gear again 3.850

-Done.

Have a good day.

Thanks Praiano. I am running something close to that now but will give your numbers a shot. I can run with the first ghost for the first quarter of the track, but then he just pulls away like he has a better trans or a hell of a grip setup, lol. He just pulls away. Crazy fast them top guys are.
