Transfer save game bewteen 2 playstations

Ok, so I have a 60GB and a 40GB PS3. Ones connected to a normal sony TV and one to a HD TV in my living room. Problem, is I wanna play on the HD TV when its free.

So far have tried copying save game from one PS3 to USB stick (whilst USB stick was free of any GTP data), and then copying from USB stick to other PS3 (whilst PS3 was free from any other GTP save game data) - i know GTP doesn't like other GT save data being present, and doesn't like overwriting existing save game data.

Loaded up the game, and nothin, i get 35000c and no cars or anything - completely lost, and also really anoyying.

I have a a PAL version and i live in the UK and have two UK PS3's - thats about the extent of my knowledge and technical know how on the situ lol.

Any thoughts would be reeeally appreciated, cos I wanna be able to take the 40GB back to uni with me soon...and it would reallly be great if I didnt have to star tover again :guilty: Thanks.
 
Are they both Blue-Ray versions or downloaded PSN versions? Cos you cant use the savegame from the Blu-Ray game with the PSN version of the game & vice versa!
 
Erm, the disc i use is the same one everytime, if thats what you mean - I only have one copy of the game - jus run from the one room to another lol, insert the disc try to load up the save game and off I go. Only diff is the console - like i said ones a 60GB and ones a 40GB, but as far as im aware it shouldn't make a diff?
 
No, it shouldn't mate! Both consoles have all the SpecII updates, etc yes?

Make sure they are both connected to the internet then load GT5: P and go into GT:TV, if you get a message asking you to update then do so, if not then you are up to date.

Do it with both machines, if they are both up to date and it still doesnt work then im pretty much stumped!
 
Hmm, yeah my machine in the living room is not connected to the internet, and all bar the system update it dragged off of GTP when i installed it, it hasn't done anyothers so that may be it.

I'l check in the next hour or so and let you know mate - thanx very mcuh for the help so far!
 
Ok, so iv updated both playstations and transfered the files, and still when i load up GTP it doesnt load my save game:guilty:
 
Success! Turns out that I hadn't done all the downloads (thought I had). Finished the last download whici popped up on screen, restarted the game, and it loaded the same game that I'd transfered>
