Transfer songs with bluetooth or ev-do

I got the motorola e815 and am too cheap of a bastar[) to pay for ringtones. Adn i know evdo has something to do with file transfer (perhaps now...i'm a moron) so..is there any way to transfer my own songs withotu buying a usb cable?

okay...do you think you could guide me on how to...which in any case by some strange out of world coincidence that you happen to have the same phone i have you could help me out?

and how do you get yoru computer to recognize a bluetooth device?

First, you will need a Bluetooth adapter. You can purchase one at any computer electronics store or online store. Most adapters use the USB interface, similar to Flash drives. Just plug it in and install the drivers.

Second, you will need to read your phone's documentation and manual about connecting your phone to your computer through Bluetooth.

I wouldn't be surprised though, if the ringtone files are stored in some obscure format noone has ever heard of..

they're direct mp3...btu i havent bought and bluetooth adapter and my stupid sister wont let me use her credit card to buy a cord. Also...is there any actual free real music ringtone sites or site that you can upload what you want to be setn to your phone?

Well, get an adapter or a cord to connect them.

If the ringtones are direct MP3, you should be able to just use your favorite MP3 file...

Ha! You have the version of my laptop without the widescreen! (i'm the v4000). If you have bluetooth on yours, i should have it on mine in theory. That means i'll be able to do that when i get my se k700i. How do you go about turning it on? It says bluetooth below my battery, but i have no clue how to turn it on. The manual says that it turns on when i press the wireless button next to the on/off button, but i have no idea how to make sure the bluetooth is on. Oh well, i guess i'll find out when i get the new phone.

Anyway, crazyazn, i would have thought that once you turn bluetooth on on your phone and pc, your phone will show up as another computer, and a little wizard comes up on windows which goes about sending files to the phone. That's what my nokia 3200 did with my old laptop via infrared anyway. If you want to send files off, all you had to do was go into the phone's menu, and find the file, then go to send, and then it would give you two options as to how you would like to send the file - by infrared, or by mms. You would then choose infrared, and a window would appear on the pc, asking wether you would like to accept the file, and then it would download it. Simple!

Can you pm me with where the file is please? It would greatly help if i knew how to do it, especially when i get my new phone in a few weeks.

Thanks

Jon

Just got my new sony erricsson k700i, and a belkin bluetooth adaptor (didn't want to take a chance with the internal bluetooth). Installed the bluetooth adaptor and the sony ericsson pc suite, but i can't send files from either the pc to the phone, or vice verca using the bluetooth file transfer wizard. I keep getting messages that it wasn't successful -

"The file transfer failed because the receiving Bluetooth computer or device did not respond.

If you sent the file to another Windows XP computer, that computer must be running the Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard. If you sent the file to a Bluetooth device, make sure the OBEX File Push Profile is installed."

Obex what? Does that have to be installed on my phone or something? Both bluetooth devices work properly - i had the phone set up as a keyboard earlier, but it just won't send files. Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Jon

EDIT

I reinstalled the driver, and had a fiddle around with which one driver was assigned to the adaptor, and it still didn't work with the file sending wizard, so i tried my bluetooth places. That works 100% aok, so i'm using it like an ftp address, and just dragging and dropping files back and forth. Works 100%! Problem solved:)
