Transferring a saved file

Hi guys,

I used to play GT5 on my cousin's PS3 but on my own account, however I now own a new slim PS3 and I had my saved game on a USB and followed all the steps to copy the save from USB to SAVED DATA UTILITY but for some reason it can not load my progress whenever I started the game.

It started form the beginning without my progress (cars, money etc.) despite that it was copied to the PS3 successfully as you can see in attached pic.

I'am using the same account but the only difference is that I changed the password since I forgot it. And the GT5 I was playing on my cousin's was EU edition and now I'm having US GT5 XL edition if that make a difference.

Could you please help me in running the transferred save on my new PS3.

I don't think an EU game save can transfer to a US account or work on a US disc.
 
so that might be the problem?

OMG so I'm going to loss all my cars, money and game progress?!!!!!!! that's ridiculous

couldn't he just change his home country to someplace in the Eu, and then load the save data?

Nope The game region is on the BD, not the account.

EU is BCES-00569
US XL is BCUS-98394

The EU save will only work on EU game disk BCES-00569 or £15 for platinum edition.

Ether restart or buy the EU version...
But buying the EU version means having an Eu account to buy the DLC and having a broker to get you PSN cards or a new credit card.

So what all did you lose?
It's easier to start over now with the seasonals + log in bonuses. Members of this forum always seem willing to help too.
