Transferring savefiles from one version/region to another;

Hello there, everyone!

I've been a reader for a long time, but now the time has come for me to ask for your help, guys!

I have been playing the American GT5 for a quite few months, now. But the game is not mine, so I bought myself an "English+Chinese Version" (as stated in the cover).
The game runs absolutely fine on my console, but it just won't load my save file! While browsing through my saves, I can find two GT5 files, both from the 2.01 version, but each game loads one of them.
Is there anyway I can get the Chinese version to load the previous (american) save, so I can return the first DVD to its righteous owner?

From my understanding, a GT5 save game is locked to a particular region & PSN ID, so no there is no way. You will have to start again.
 
Yup, its not possible.
Are you aiming to move from one region to another to get the DLC? If that so, you need to start over. Sad but true
 
Actually, I was just trying to load the save file using the other disc, so I could return the one my friend lent me...

And, by the way, would I be able to join my other friends that use the American disc to play online, if I were to use the Chinese one?

Damnit.
