nope
well, i found the translation, and i thought i'd check it out, i found that i could look at my own posts in another language, and it's heaps cool

i'm just wondering if someone that doesn't know any english, can just come and post in their own language

 I just checked the translation in Italian, it's so lame!...even my 3 year old cousin would have done better than that. :D

As I see it, if you set the translation to any language, the whole message boards is translated as well, including this thread :). But one thing is for sure, you can view it in a different language, but you may not reply to any thread, even if you are a member. You must go back to the original page and post in English as it's the main language spoken here.

You can PM a member in another language though. Of course the recipient must know what you're talking about ;)

Ciao!

One of the unspoken rules here, is that all the posts must be in english. Due to the amount of knowledge here, we ask that it be in english so that nearly everyone can read it. Should there be someone that doesn't speak english, at all, they are welcome to use the translator.

okay, so someone that speaks a different language comes along, uses the translator, posts in their own language, then someone else comes in English and can read it in English?

If that langage is English, yes. Otherwise...

That is not possible. You can view the threads in another language but you cannot reply to them. You must go back to the original page (which is in English) and post there.

Ciao!

truth is that if you post in your own non-english language and have it translated by the translation service, the result will probably earn you a warning

for example, take this text I found from Wikipedia:

Wikipedia
The nuclear test was conducted with indigenous wisdom and technology 100 percent. It marks a historic event as it greatly encouraged and pleased the KPA and people that have wished to have powerful self-reliant defense capability. It will contribute to defending the peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the area around it.

Once translated into Spanish, the result resembles this:

translation service
The nuclear test was lead with the indigenous wisdom and the technology 100 percents. It marks an historical event as it greatly animated and it satisfied to the KPA and people that have wished to have long-range independent capacity of the defense. It will contribute to defend La Paz and the stability in the Korean peninsula and the area around her.

The disclaimer is the best: The translator will not produce a perfect translation. In most cases it should adequately convey the general sense of the original; however, it is not a substitute for a competent human translator.
