transmission help please? :(

I'm pretty good with tuning other parts but I came across a tune for my corvette ZR1 that beats "like the wind" events it involves transmission/gear tuning... But I don't understand what people mean when they say set it too 249 or w/e. The tune I found says" trans gearing 261" I can't tune individual gears and can't set final drive ratio to the number 261. What does this mean and how do I set it? Thanks for any help

Means top speed I assume.

You basically set how fast the top speed of the car is.
(the number is based on the gear ratio of the transmission and the highest rpms of the engine, it doesn't take into account wind resistance or downforce.)
 
If your not finding where to do it, you go into the dial under the transmission section on the tuning menu. You should see a speed on the bottom and can dial that.

Important to note that sounds like mph, if your looking for kmh you will need to convert it. I just type it in google 261 mph to kmh or kph

I just figured that 261 MPH was pretty fast for a race car since the Veyron does about 253 MPH at a push.

I know it isnt a race car but it was built to be very fast in a long straight line....Most race cars are built to be a bit quick around a track!

It won't go 261 MPH, it's limited by aerodynamics and tyre friction. The number it gives is what would the car would achieve in a vacuum.
