Recently I watched the Back To The Future Trilogy all over again & it got me thinking about time travel. Where I would go of I had a time machine? I think first I would most definately travel into the future to see all the advances. To see if robots are living amonst us & if they're servants or if they are self-concious. I'd also really like to see how the internet evolves. Just look at how much it's changed it the last five years. Imagine 50! Then I believe I'd venture back into the eighties & buy a crap-load of TMNT-related stuff since I'm such a fan that refuses to let go.. :guilty:

On another note I just discovered this cool bookstore here in town. I bought these time-travel related books today;

"Retro Lives" by Lee Grimes
"The Great Time Machine Hoax" by Kieth Laumer
"Realtime Interrupt" by James P. Hogan
"Past Imperfect" conprised of various aurthers
"Back To The Future 2" (movie tie-in) by Graig Shaw Gardner
"Back To The Future 3" (see above) by the same aurther
"Time Scout" by Robert Asprin & Linda Evans

I would go back and walk hand in hand with jezus and would try to prevent him from doing any good, then go back to this time and have a look at what happened with religion because of me:lol:

Offcourse if I could REALLY time travel, I wouldn't do this, I was just kidding also no offence meant by this

Then I would go to the dinosaurs era and walk with dinosaurs HAHA:lol: And maybe try to annoy one of them with stones and see how they react: *splash* I'm dead:lol:

Then I would begin on the "editing" of some major catastrofees like 9/11 and the second world war

all in all I think we don't really realise how powerfull you would be then:sly: You can do ANYTHING, you can even jump of a building with that time machine and activate it just before you hit the ground:scared: You could really do ANYTHING!!!:sly:

I would bring the US tax code, constitutional ammendments, budget, legal code, descriptions of every single department the US government has opened, and a full history of the nation to the founding fathers of the US when they were first drafting their framework for our government.

Then maybe we could get some of these problems fixed from the beginning.

I'd go back and kill my grandfather.

At least then it'd stop people wondering.

You couldn't go back and walk with the dinosaurs because they had an atmosphere made of mostly Nitrogen. You'd die shortly after you got out of the time machine, but ya know.

Our atmosphere is already 80% nitrogen genius.

I'd go as far back as I'd need to to prove evolution (and if I had a window in my time machine, see evolution fast-foward! :D), and hell, maybe try going back to the beginning of the universe (assuming that didn't affect the time machine itself, of course). Then I'd do the same as Dan – fix some of America's government-related problems from their beginnings.

And for the hell of it, I'd re-write the settlement between Apple and Microsoft that gave MS full access and use of Apple's GUI. ;)

I dont know, go back and make my dad put huge stocks into Microsoft.

I've always wondered about this (not you specificly). If someone were to somehow go back and eliminate their direct relative. They would eliminate their existence, but then because there would be no one to kill the person so they would exist, but then they would kill their relative and on and on till infinity. Either time would stop at the moment they went back or the universe would split.

I don't know either.

- Kill Hitler in the 20s
- Just after the downfall of the Roman Empire, give some hints to populations on how to avoid losing a few hundred years in dark ages.
- Give a freaking World Map to Jacques Cartier, and explain him about Canadian winters, either that or slightly modifying his sextant. :grumpy:

But then I (we) would suddenly disappear after modifying the space-time continuum... well, I might just tell myself to somehow find 10 000$ to invest in Cisco in the 80s, then cash out $10M in 2000.

I'd go back to 2004 and explain to P.D. how may big goof-ups there are going to be in GT4 if they don't fix this, that, and the other thing. Of course, then we'd all still be waiting for the game to be released sometime before the holidays. ;)

You wouldn't go for microsoft? Come on that could be $100M

Man, forget going to all that trouble. I'd just travel to the year 2035 & pick up GT10. No doubt by then they will have fixed some of the problems. Although damage control will probably still be a few sequels off.

time machine in real life?

TIME MACHINE
------------
This is a device witch enables time travelling. The central part of the
device consists of 2 frame antennas who are arranged 90 degree in
relationship to each other. Each frame are approximately 2 meters in diameter.
The antennas can consist of a tube which are 10 Cm in diameter. The tube must
be superconductive. Inside the tubes floats liquid helium for the
superconductivity. The control device of the machine consists of a sinus
generator with a tuning capacity from 1 Hz to 1000 MHz. The signal form this
generator is amplified a little before it goes to a phase changer. This change
the phase of the signal 90 degree. The phase changer is independent of the
frequency in. The phase change is 90 degrees for both 1 Hz and 1000 MHz input.
The insignal is splitted just before the phase changer so that on part is
unchanged and another part is changed 90 degrees. After the phase changer are
the signal amplified with 2 linear amplifiers to 100000 Watt on each channel.
After that are the two channels feeded to it's respective frame antenna. The
signal on one frame antenna will always be 90 degree in phase difference to
the other frame antenna.

USE: The generator is set to 1 Hz,and the machine is turned on. A compass
needle at the centre of the machine will travel slowly round. Inside and round
the antenna system it becomes a powerful rotating magnetic field. At a higher
generator frequency, the magnetic field will rotate faster. Approximate 2 meter
from the antennas are placed several chairs arranged in a circle around the
antenna system. Her are the timetravellers placed. One increase now the
generator frequency gradually until the speed of the rotating magnetic field
is close to the speed of light. If now the right conditions are present
(etherical/astral),the time will run slower for those who are sitting on the
chairs compared to persons outside the powerfield. Seen from the chairs the
time will run normal between each chair. The timetravellers clock will run
normal. They will see the clock on the wall outside the powerfield running
fast into the future. The nearer the rotating speed of the magnetic field
comes to the light speed, the faster will the timetravellers move into the
future. If the speed of the magnetic field are set equal to light speed, the
time will freeze seen from outside the magnetic field. Seen from the
timetravellers view they are mowing endless fast into the future. ( they will
not be able to sense the world outside the magnetic field and the time will
stop for them). If one increase the frequency further, the rotating speed of
the magnetic field will become greater than the speed of light. The time
sensed from the chairs would then be reversed, and they will see the clock on
the wall outside the magnetic field moving backward. The timetraveller will
now travel back in time. At the speed of light the time travellers goes both
endlessly fast into the future and the past at the same time. The result is
that the time freezes at that speed. At a higher frequency they will travel
slower into the past. When the speed of the magnetic field approaches the
lightspeed from oboe, the timetravellers will travel faster into the past. At
the speed of light for the magnetic field rotation, the time is freezed for the
people inside the powerfield and they can't register anything. For a outside
person who looks inside the powerfield it looks like looking at a freezed
hologram. If one from outside the magnetic field try to touch the field at
this state,it seems harder than steal. The outside person will at this state
not be able to penetrate the powerfield who acts as a endlessly strong armour
at that state. If one put a clock inside the powerfield an outside person
will observe following: At 1 Hz the clock will run normal. When the frequency
arrive the lowest part of the VHF band (oboe 30 MHz) the clock seems to be
going slower. At the top of the VHF band (approximate 300 MHz) the clock will
stop completely. In the lower part of the UHF band (from 400 MHz) the clock
begin to go slowly backwards. At 1000 MHz the clock will go approximately at
normal speed backwards. It's possible that the machine must have a injection
of modulated orgon energy to function.

MSN Money had an investment simulation chart with their quotes a while back, but they seem to have removed it since. But anywau, Cisco stock had a better growth than MS from when they went public, you wouldn't get $10M out of $10K with MS.

time machine in real life?

I'd be more inclined to believe that if it wasn't written in Pidgin English.

Where DID you find that nonsense?

Ow yeah, I would rip Einstein's brains out, put them in my mouth without swollowing it (if that's spelled correctly) and go ALL the way to the future to the point where brain transplantations are possible, and then put Einstein's brain in my head:D And go back again to this time:dopey:

Why in your mouth? The acidity and enzymes would destroy it. Why not just bring a cooler back with you?

PS
Why in your mouth? The acidity and enzymes would destroy it. Why not just bring a cooler back with you?

Just in case I'm the only one and only thing that can time travel, I make it a part of me by putting it in my mouth:yuck::sick: I think it was just an idea, maybe I would pass on it:yuck:
