Hi, I am at the very early stages of planning a trip to Fuji Speedway for the Super GT. If anyone has been before or anyone who has any knowledge on which airports to fly from/to, places to stay near the track, which airline to use etc. I would be very grateful!

Have looked breifly online and it all got a bit jumbled so I thought I would start this thread and hopefully get better results before I look any further.

Thanks again for any suggestions :)

Maybe this link could help you. Look in the From Airport section first, then look at the Train section. If that further confuses you, a e-mail to the people at the track for help wouldn't hurt. ;)

Sorry, I can't be much help right now, I'll tell you if I come across something, but don't forget to go to a track day.

Fly into Tokyo Narita, then you can take shinkansen down. You could also save money and take a bus too.

Well, combine it with a vacation. Flying round the world, arriving in the great country of Japan and "only" go to a single race event is a waste of time and money if you ask me.
So, i recommend 2 weeks, 5 days Tokyo ( stay in west Shinjuku, the Shinjuku Washington has a fair price but of course you can go cheaper aswell ) ( Tokyo Tower, Odaiba, Ginza, Akihabara, Shinjuku, Tokyo city view, Tokyo dome roller coster etc should be on your to do list ) , then rent a car travel to Nikko, through Nagano over the Japanese alps, back down to Kyoto, the go over Nara to Osaka, then drive to Fuji National park, go to your race and fly back home. The Shinkansen is a nice ride, but nothing beats driving through Japan in your own rental car. Don't be afraid of speed traps etc outside big cities and major highways. Paddle to the metal, oh those memories, I can remember beating my 140 hp 4WD (!) Honda Accord through the land of the rising sun, it was awesome.

I've been to Japan several times, I can only recommend it, oh and take friends or your girldfriend with you.

You should calculate 2000 EUR for 2 weeks total. That's about what I always needed, but I'm sure you could get a trip to Japan for way less. British Airways has cheap flights, but depending on your departure date almost any airline could be cheapest.
