Ok, Friday afternoon is the time. Trial Mountain is the place!

I am running Trial Mountain on Friday as some of you already know. I dont have a clue what car I should use. So I am leaving it up to my fellow GTP members to decide. I have every car eligible for this race so pick ANYTHING that you think has a good chance of winning; in stock form, of course. I will use this thread to keep all of you informed before, during and after the race. Thanks for any input and pick something interesting.

If you don't like the above choices PLEASE pick something else and tell me what it is in your post.

Thanks in advance, 12sec Civic

The NSX Zero can take this race, and is a pleasant car to drive on this track. I haven't run this Enduro yet but that is what I'm going to use.

The Viper is overkill, as is the Z06, I think.

Ziper and Z06 are overkill. The NSX and the Aston Martin are a sure win as well.

The 300ZX and The Mustang can be used to win it as well.

I'd be real interested in seeing the results of the Audi S4. I'm betting you've gotta run very smooth laps, and running tires that have more grip than T2's.

Good luck.

I used a GTSR Viper but I just wanted to get it out of the way not a fair race I won by a really long way...I would now use a Lancer of any type...I use Lancers for everything...

I think the Aston Martin V12 would be the most interesting to win it with. I do like the Audi S4 though, well it isnt up to me, hopefully more people vote and I will then choose based solely on what they pick.

Honda! 'twould be my pick out of the cars you've listed. None of the other cars interest me. I would run it in a NSX Type S Zero or some other car, but none in that list.

although i admire the S4, the overpowering torque of the Vanquish would make the mountain almost as challenging, so i'd use that.
the S4 isn't bad for a challenge, but you'll have a harder time with it.

Do you think I will win the the S4 or Vanquish. I HAVE to win, there is no way I will go in with a car that will lose.

My Vanquish has like 4 miles on it. I am going to run laps in both and get the times, then you guys can tell me if those times are good enough to win...

Well, I just ran some Free Run's with my stock S4 with Medium-Racing tires and the best lap of 2 was 1:40:663, I also ran 2 laps with my Vanquish with the stock tires and everything else stock and my best time was 1:34:914. Are these times good enough to win this race? Remember what tires those times are with and how fast or slow they will wear out.

PS, The Vanquish has 471hp and the S4 has 267hp.

jag xj220!!!! its fast semi easy to handle, just dont break while turing to avoid any accellerated tire-loss, and dont lose!!! its that simple :)

why are you only doing it in stock form...do you have to(stock form is not doin it up right).

Does anyone else find the NSX type zero slow as hell even after you buy nearly every tune upgrade possible.

I would use the viper or 300zx as i love my nissans!

The Trial Mountain 2 Hour Endurance can only be entered with a car that has had no modifications done to it (other than tires) and is not a race car of course.

I was using Tuscan speed 6 because I was impressed with its engine sound, it was a relaxing enduro with that car ^_^ and I'm currently in the middle of PD Cup with it :D

Speaking of nice sounding engines, I just won the Calibra Touring car and it sounds unbelievably sweet ass. I want to enter an enduro with it so I can hear that engine for 2 hours!!!

Cars I still need: Arta NSX, Castrol Mugen NSX, F094/H, XJ220 Race Car, Lancia Delta HF Integrale Rally Car, Lister Storm V12 race Car, Super Autobacs MR-S. I am working on it and it wont be long now.....

what!! you got a calibra!! arghh give it to me!!
I've been in a hurry completing 100% so when I was awarded with a GT40 Race car I didn't reload
I'm jeeeealous...
oh yeah that's my favourite car in GT2 besides Unisia Jecs skyline ^_^

As for running with the A4, here are my stats from running the Trial MTn. Enduro in a Lancer Evo VI GSR.

Super slicks and an Oil change.
ASM = 4; TCS = 1

Mazda RX-7 Type RZ(J): 71 laps (31+ seconds behind me)
Supra RZ(J): 71 laps
Impreza WRX STI(J): 69 laps
Skyline GT-R Vspec II (R32, J): 68 Laps
Lancer Evolution VII(J): 68 laps

AI Pitted on laps: 23, 46, 69
I pitted on laps: 12, 24, 37, 49 (27.152sec lead) and 61 (32.371sec lead).

The lead changed hands 8 times, in the first 22 laps. I took the lead on lap 22, lost it on Lap 25 due to dropping time in the pit. I regained it on 32, lost it when I pitted on Lap 37. I regained it again on Lap 44 and held it for the remainder of the race. The closest 2nd place managed after this point was 9.5XX seconds. Side Bar: Lap 58 was a 1’41.000, Interesting. As an additional adventure in this race, I began to take advantage of drifting into the tight corners. By kicking the tail out slightly just as I entered the corner, I was able to exit at a much higher speed.

Best Lap: 1’38.466
Total Time: 120’37.264
Average Lap: 1’41.933
Total Laps: 71

As you can see, the Vanquish will not have a problem. The Audi may not be enough. If you're confident in your driving skills, and can hold the time close...You may be able to do it.

Good luck, and let us know when you finish.

The race begins in 3 hours at 4:00PM Mtn Time. I am still waiting for either one of the cars on the vote-o-matic to pop up in the lead by then or else it is the Vanquish for me.

Cars I still need: Arta NSX, Castrol Mugen NSX, F094/H, XJ220 Race Car, Lister Storm V12 race Car, Super Autobacs MR-S. I am working on it and it wont be long now.....

I'f you're planning on running the Vanquish, think about this...

Your lap shows 1:34:914. My average lap in the Lancer was 1'41.933. That's a difference of 7 seconds per lap. Space that over 70 laps, an it means you should be able to lap the second place AI at least 3 times, if not more.

Good luck, let us know how it went.

AO

There is one half hour to go. I just got back from school and I am trying to decide on a car still. Der Alta made me realize how much of a slaughtering it will be if I use the Vanquish so I am looking around for something else. Rught now I am going to run laps with the CL600, Lotus Elise 190 and Esprit, Jag XKR and the Speedster. maybe even the 328ci. I will be back with lap times for all......Whichever is closest to 1:38:500 is my choice.

Ok, I just tried out a bunch of cars. The jaguar XKR got a lap time of 1:38:471 so I figured I would run with it. Then I entered and tried qualifying and the NSX Type S Zero got a qualifying lap of 1:35:667!!! There is no way I can use the XKR; it looks like I will be using the Vanquish with a slight lead of 1:34:914. I put super slicks on and I am starting now. Wish me luck against that damn NSX!!!. I am going on consistency and pit strategy here.

PS, My Vanquish is starting this race with 371hp.

First 20 minutes are done, The Vanquish has pitted once. The NSX is 17 seconds behind me and the Aston is running very smooth and linear. My best lap so far is a 1:33:313.

Session 2 begins now......

Ok, I just finished. It took me 2:00:03 and I won the S2000 LM Race Car!!??? Damn it. Since I didnt win the Lister Storm V12 I had to go and buy it because Trial Mountain is the only place to get it.

So I am sitting at 97.7% I have SS11 Endurance and Mistral 78 Laps to go. Then Formula GT.

Cars I still need: Arta NSX, Castrol Mugen NSX, Super Autobacs MR-S, XJ220 Race Car, F094/H.

I would like to thank everyone for their votes and their encouragement. I would suggest doing this endurance with the "British Bulldog" V12 Vanquish to anyone, because it was a very enjoyable experience and that car is very well made.

The next race is Special Stage Route 11 50 Lap Endurance scheduled for Tuesday October 1st 2002 at 12:00PM Mtn time (3:00pm Eastern)

Start giving me suggestions on a car to use........
