These three cars represent three of the baddest modern cars of our day. The Corvette's been around the longest, the Viper is the youngest. The Mustang is the cheapest, the Viper has pretty high 5, even 6 figure prices. The Corvette is sexy, while the Viper is a bit more of a beast. The Viper packs the most horsepower. All three have seen sportscar or road racing action. Here's the question.

Which American brute is the best of these three?

Definately! Although the

is catching up.

I've always had a thing for the viper, I like the older ones better than the new ones but either way it's a viper, next up I'd choose the vette, fast and sexy, then the mustang, but it would have to be a saleen or cobra ;)

Viper wins it for me.... then the new Vette and last comes the Mustang.

I love the Viper.
I love the Vette (not quite as much).
Mustang is nice, but not my cup of tea.

All about the vette for me. I would never own another mustang unless it was a cobra, saleen, or free. I hated mine.

Viper. Preferably the First Gen GTS.

As nice as the Vette is... I just can't get past front and rear leaf springs... I'd love a C3, though.

I like the new 'Stang, along with the classics. In between, though, not my can 'o beer. (Who says "cup o' tea" in a thread talking about Domestic muscle?! :D )

Its funny since a Mustang wouldn't even compare with the Vette and the Viper.

The Vette is just as fast or equal to the Vipers performance. The only thing is the viper has a higher top speed. But other then that they are pretty much equal.

I'd take a Vette first, then a Mustang, then a Viper. I really dislike the Viper! For the price it doesn't offer much, when I could spend far less and get a equally good Corvette.

I thought about this quite a bit back in February when looking to buy a new car. It was either a 2003 Cobra, a 2001+ Z06, or a used Viper GTS.

If the Z06 or GTS would have had a pretty much bullet proof motor with forged internals, I probably would have bought one of those instead, but they didn't. Not to mention the Vette and Viper are expensive as all hell to modify. I didn't have $5,000-$10,000 for a heads/cam package. I also couldn't afford to fix the Viper if something happened to it(the hood alone costs $10,000-$13,000 to replace. **** that). In the end I chose the one I could go the fastest in for the least amount - the best bang for the buck. And, now, I have a car that would walk a Vette/Viper with ease.:p

Duh Viper, why is the Mustang even compared to these two? As for the Vette... I agree with DRIFT4EVA it's catching up, It's where the Viper was when it first came out. I agree with skylineGTR_guy I like the old one better too. :irked: The new Viper and Vette just copied each other.

A stock Cobra is faster than a C5 Corvette, so why not?

Well he just said Mustang which easily could be though of as the crap V6 model. Cobra's I could see.

I´d pick up a Mustang, but that´s just me, I must admit, I´m a Ford enthusiast.

But the Vette is also cool. The new C6 is very good looking. I didn´t like the pop-up lights the older generations of the Vette had..

And the Viper.. A mean beast, but not for me.. If I could get one for free that would change my opinion :D

It's Viper in pole position, then the mustang....Mustangs been a pretty strong reprasentative of "american racing" for a while..I know the corvette is overall a better car, but at 52 + thousand dollars......Pretty high end........for 35,000 you get a high 12 second cobra...that run's 11's with slicks and a pulley..........Not to mention it's not impossible to get a stang to be quick around a track.......it'll never be AS fast as a vette...but you know..for 35,000 you can't go wrong..And you gotta remember......The most valuable stang is worth quite a bit more than the most valuable vette...

hiya! :D :O

oOOooo this thread is going to be fun! :O Well, I really like the Viper the most out of all three due to its "Viperish" looking frame and well it looks like a snake and so its "Viper" name fits it!:O  I am mostly in the Viper's section of this thread is becuz my uncle have a Dodge Viper RT/10 and I sat in it many times, but never actually get to drive it. I just luv its speed and handling and wow the beasty growl from the car. I also luv the Corvette because of how it can keep up well with many other expensive cars I believe and its a natural beauty when I see one in Blue color at the dealer. I want one...And the Mustangs, iunno I dont really got anything to say about it. I just feel that Corvette and Viper will be the cars sticking out to my eyse if you put these three cars infront of me. :D :O  :O :O

You're not even mentioning insurance figures yet. That would be hella expensive for a vette or viper.

actually the viper hood is 8 thousand....prices have dropped recently.....And yeah, you got a car that would walk a vette or viper.....but wouldn't handle the corners as nice...or have 1/2 the retail value....or have the quality parts of the other 2

$8,000? That's still ridiculous!

I honestly don't care how well my car handles. As long as I can turn onto the roads I'm traveling on the weekends, it's good enough for me. I bought it for one thing, and one thing only, a weekend toy that hauls ass in a straight line.

Retail value, or resale value? Obviously the retail is less because it vosts $20,000 less than a C5, and like $40,000 less than a Viper. Resale? Pffft. I buy my cars to drive, not to worry about how much I can resell them for in 10 years. And, with only 256 other cars like mine, I bet my car will be worth quite a bit down the road.

Quality parts? All 3 cars in question are American - thus all having ****ty ass quality.

Anyhoo, I've driven all 3 countless times, and I bought what I felt was the best for me. While the others are undoubtedly amazing machines, they're just not my cup of tea. Besides, my father might be purchasing one of the other said vehicles in 2 months when he returns from Germany.;)

Slick6- The insurance for all of them were all very close in price due to the fact that the cars would be insured under my father's name. The Mustang is classified as a 'high performance sports car' - I would imagine the others are classified similarly.

Goodness... can't I create one topic and not get a "this sucks" deal? This is getting older than Fidel Castro. Maybe older. I mentioned these three because they are some of America's front/rear bad boys. All of which can be affordable. The Saleen S7 and Mosler are more of supercars and American exotics. You want to mention those two, not to be mean but, make your own thread about it.

Viper, Corvette, or Mustang? Dodge, Chevy, and Ford respectively. Which is the best?
