Yeah, thats how I like my Vipers.

Corvette gets my vote. It's one of the best sportscars availablefor it's price. Viper and the Mustang Cobra (V6 'Stangs suck, V8s are ok, but nowhere near a Vette or a Viper) are both very good cars in my books, but the Viper costs way too much.

Heh, you claim this thread is about the baddest American cars out there yet you exclude the Saleen and Mosler because they're SUPERIOR performance cars...

Well, if you're going for best value it has to be teh Vette. The new standard vette is going to have 405hp. That's just sweet. Anyway, I think that the Vette is the only american sports car worth it's money. But I really hate ford's so I guess I'm biased.

Apparently you have pulled a Kspeed and did not read anything. Those two cars were excluded becuase of the 6 figure price tag and would be classified as suprecars. But JohnBM01 already said that didn't he, apparently you just weren't listening. Like he said, why dont you start a Saleen vs Mosler thread.

Oh, and the Vette all the way. Viper is overpriced i think. A Cobra is a highly tuned Mustang. And really a Mustang shouldn't be compared to the Vette or Viper. The Vette is the best sports car for the money, American or otherwise. Just look at the numbers and price of a Z06(stock) to other cars.

the Viper has pretty high 5, even 6 figure prices.

You want to point out to me again where it says cars have to be below 6-figures there, Chuckles? If he wants to include the Viper, which he claims is up to 6-figures (which it isn't), then he should also include other cars near that much.

Car and Driver has done this trip threat challenge and they found that viper was the fastest and corvette had the best handling out of them or something like that

Well the best bang for your price in that comparison would have to be the Corvette. The Z06 is pretty cool, If I had to buy one with my own money, no doubt it will have to be the Corvette Z06.

While, if someone offer to buy me one of these car I would choose the Viper.

Vipers are so cool, I like the newer ones. They are expensive but they are the American supercar. Its one of its kind.

Viper
Corvette
Mustang

I never really like the styling of the modern Mustang. Its not my style either. The Corvette is not as sexy as the Viper but I think it look way better than the Mustang. The Viper SRT10 look awesome!! I wouldnt mind owning one at all.

Do you call $1235/yr full coverage alot? Thats what I pay on my 99 GTS. :D

You could get a ACR for $90K

Hennessey Vipers started over $100K

The only factory VIper over $100K was the Viper GTS-R ( not street legal btw) which, if I remember correctly, about $175K and only sold to licensed racers with a good resume. 12 cars were built.

I was talking about for him, because he's around 20 I do believe, but insuring in his dad's name would be cheaper.

Do you people actually have good reasons for saying this - other than the fact that it's a Mustang?

The best bang for your buck is the Vette? You guys can't be serious. For $48,000(for a base C5) you get a car that is slower than a $35,000 car. 'Best bang for the buck' and 'Corvette' should never go in the same sentence.

Well, if all you want is straight line speed. you're absolutly right. But I've never been into drag racing myself. I like to hit the back roads or the track and see how well a car can handle the twistys.

Of course comparing the highest level Mustang to the lowest level Vette is going to go in the Mustangs advantage. But a Z06 would own a mustang for free. It'll do 0-60 in 4 seconds flat. That's half a seconf faster then the Mustang. Don't get me wrong. the mustang is no snail, but when put up against the vette....theres just no comparison. I'd go into all the other specs, but that's not what this thread is about. If you like the Mustang, cool. But I'd take a base vette over a GT Cobra any day. Just my opinion.

But factor in price and see what happens. The only Vette you can get that is similar to a Mustang Cobra in everything including price is probably the 1996 Grand Sport, though a 1991?-1995 ZR-1 might do the trick too.

Mustang is the best bang for the buck straight line performer you can get as a NEW Car.....That title used to belong to the SS or the Trans Am......But bang for the buck has to go to the Corvette z06 hands down.....52,000 dollars for a car that is now in maybe 3rd or 4th place as being the fastest sub 300,000 dollar 100% production car around the nurburgring...So..There's my standing....

Viper
Stang
Vette(vette needs to be changed...it's getting old and very common)

As far as the C6 goes.....Ups to them for the LS2 making the mucho power over the LS1, but it's going to be 45,000+...Should make it a less common car as compared to the C4...If not then poop on that model too.....C6 also looks funky
