Triumph's high-class British sporting triple, the T595 Daytona takes on Yamaha's supremely refined and focused middleweight, the YZF-R6. Can the Triumph overcome the Yamaha, um, triumphantly, or will the Yamaha overpower its less powerful opponent?

The R6 is such a polished bike these days...

And I've never been quite a fan of Triumph's middleweights.

My vote goes for the R6.

The T595 is a heavyweight. Not 595cc as the name suggests but 955cc.
I've had one for 11 years, and it is, in many ways, an excellent bike. Surefooted handling, great engine with power everywhere, awesome sound, especially with the factory carbon pipe. Bad points are too many unreliability issues, especially with the gearbox (I've had mine rebuilt twice). Starter clutch replacement requires bottom end to be dismantled. Bad handlebar position leading to numb hands and sore wrists. Oh and awful, awful dealers and 'service' personnel round these parts.
Not as focused as an R6 by any means, but still very quick and much more presence. Though the later 955i would be a better choice.
But after all, these bikes are not even in the same capacity class.

And the Triumph is more powerful than an R6 by some margin.
R6 around 100bhp, T595 around 115BHP (at rear wheel)
