So I kinda think I got this think sorted with Bob and the road courses. As you know Bob and everyone else for that matter is all over the road in the corners and lighting up the back tires like it's a drift race.

So I meddled with the LSD a bit and yep Bob is no longer fishtailing thru every corner anymore. And running cool as a cucumber.

So I setup the Diff as follows:

10
50
10

Bob has plenty of tires left on lap 8 and is well in the lead right now on Grand Valley will confirm it when I try the other road courses he failed miserably on.

Hope this helps(oh and I run the downforce maxed as well but that made no difference)

Yup, I just did the NASCAR series today as well. I got 10th at Grand Valley because he kept slipping out, so for HSR and Laguna Seca, I set the LSD much higher, and he won first in the remaining races.

Yeah it worked well at Laguna as well. I just wouldn't have used such high downforce and maybe a little shorter on the gears but he won it again quite easily.

I was just redoing the single races he didn't win in the championship but good for folks struggling with it nonetheless. Now if only I could get a good setup so he could be competitive at Daytona(I have already won the championship I am just a completionist...)

What level driver is being used? I'm afraid to start this series as I'm afraid of breaking my TV/PS3.

I used a lvl 19 driver(and he is usually pants...) on Grand Valley and a level 20 on Laguna.

Basically it just stops him from lighting up the tires in every corner.

The problem with Bob's are that they seem to have a set gear for each corner no matter how you tune the tranny so I figured I needed to find a way to tune out the wheelspin. This worked great.

On Daytona, I set the d-force to about half, the tranny to 224 MPH, and the LSD back to default. I won it with a level 19 Bob. Keep telling to pace up, as slipping out isn't a problem.

Noob question coming up. You ready?

Does a higher or lower value on the LSD make it more like an open diff or more like a welded one? I thought the higher value would make it tighter but the settings in the first post look like the opposite?

My driver had trouble the first two times he raced (level 24 driver). He spun out, burned tires, etc. But after that, he owned all of those races. I didn't change the diff. I think my driver just needed some time to learn how to handle a Nasar is all.

Well as far as I know the higher you set it the more "locked" it becomes so I lowered it for the initial torque and braking(open) and just raised the lock for the acceleration so it would lock up a little quicker once it had traction.
I think the key was in the initial torque as that is where the wheelspin was occurring.

I don't know about that, but the higher the LSD, the less over steer and more under steer.

 Those last two posts completely contradict each other.

Initial torque in more common term English is "Preload". It pre-binds the LSD to your set accel/decel behavior. So if you have a lot of preload, without power being applied or the car being coasting, the diff will assume the behavior as if it had power being applied.

Do you guys tune the car so it leans to one side for the ovals?

I know this is the trick in indy races.. does anyone have a set up that works for the ovals on gt5 or are the nascar's set up like this already?
