Trouble with getting GT to play.

So last night out of nowhere my disc decides it does not want to read. Keep in mind this a newer disc that is still scratch free.

I finally got it to play but when going back to the GT Home screen it will freeze on the loading screen.

Any ideas or help on how I can get the game to work again?

Did you mod anything? If not you may try a laser cleaner or simply letting your PS3 cool down a while.. This usually happens to me once my ps3 has been on for about 12 hours and I switch disc..

Edit: I am also using a 320gb slim

Nope never modded. I had given up last night. Tried to play when I got home this morning and still nothing. I'm assuming it is the disc drive but God of War and NBA 2K13 work perfect....

I am currently in the process of reinstalling everything. Will update this post once complete to see if it helped.

Well I get everything installed.

Start the game and it ask to install to reduce load times. I do that and during the process it freezes... Gah I just want to play. Shouldn't have to trouble shoot a damn video game!
 
It may be your blue-ray lens. A friend has gone through 2 already & the third was acting up. He bought a disc cleaning disc & now GT5 loads with no problems. Also if you smoke, that invisible tar film could mess things up. Disc & lens have to be spotless.
 
I once had my Black Ops 2 game being very freeze-prone, and just being very temperamental.

I tried cleaning it using baby wipes, as-well as (multiple) other methods. Then I tried getting a 'Black Pack' wipe and cleaning it with one....

The game worked superbly. ;)

I have a set of microfiber cloths and a spray only ment for disc. Maybe I should give that a try. Just weird that every other disc works perfect
 
Was it a refurbished game when u bought it? I've bought games that were polished and buffed so much that even though they looked superb they were warped or had like a "cup" effect like a cupped car tire

No it was purchased new about 3 weeks ago. Tried cleaning the disc. Reinstalled everything and it still won't load... The ps3 reads it but en I start it I get the error that it needs to be cleans...

Can pop in every other game I own and they work immediately. Even if the other disc are dirty as hell...

Man it's unexplainable!?!? I think at this point your best bet is to just pick up another disc. They should be cheap enough now a days

Guess so, think I only paid $20 for the XL Edition so yeah pretty cheap.
