Here is an article about a few teenagers in my area (two of which are on my Lacrosse team) who all got busted for a chain of highly organized robberies. They all got caught at Reagan National Airport where police were waiting for them.

It's pretty sad because most of them are all getting charged for multiple felonies and some may not be able to go to college. I was just curious if there are teens in your area who have done or do the same sort of things.

I don't recall teens in my area doing any kind of mass robberies... I mean, quite a number probably have stolen something in their lives, but not something like that. The area that I live in is one of the safest in the country (I believe it was ranked the 5th safest city in the U.S.), so it's pretty good. :)
 
You see it is ok to be greedy, but once you reached the greedy but stupid phase you get caught. If they left it at 1 time and 1 time only they probably would have gotten away with it.

I don't find that sad. They're paying for their crimes. Did any of these kids even intend to attend college?

Heh. Last night I was telling Doug about some of the things I got into trouble for when I was 14. Got arrested for taking a firearm to school(it was a paintball gun, no barrel, no C02, no paintballs, but they still arrested me), and for grand larceny. I got caught stealing a brand new waverunner from the IOP Marina. Me, and the owner of Wild Dunes' son used to steal boats, and take them for joy rides at night. We always brought them back afterwards in the same condition that we took them, and we never intentionally did damage to anything on them. I'm not sure why exactly we used to do that as he had his own boat, I had access to my Dad's 500hp 35' center console, and we had access to his grandparents 55' yacht. We used to open dock lockers and steal people's 12 guage flares/flare guns, and take them to the beach at like 1:00am, and just shoot them off. We did a lot of other stuff we never got caught for.

I don't even know what I was thinking when I was 14-15. I was such a bad kid I don't know how my parents didn't like... disown me, or something. All I know is I owe my Dad, and I'll never be able to repay him for the **** I've put him through.

Sometimes it is not a matter of being greedy. . . Sometimes it is an act of desperation in all honesty. Some people are just crack addicts :lol:
 
Wow. I did some stuff when I was a kid (not as bad as Josh, though!) :p But these kids had a real operation going! What is sad though, is that these sh**heads probably never even THOUGHT about College!

I would have if I was my parents.:odd:

Because of how I acted back then I've pretty much decided I don't want any kids. You should use me as a reason to abstain in your abstinence campaign, or whatever the hell it is you call it.

Why is that sad? People should learn pretty soon that actions have consequences.

If you steal something age six, you should get a slap on the back of the legs. Then you may not suddenly find yourself in a situation where your whole future is blown.

Law and order is there for a reason, and people who break the laws of a society should understand that they are forfeiting the benefits that that society gives, including college.

People need to take responsibility for their actions.
 
When i was thirteen I took a paintball gun into school, loaded it with a ball bearing and shot a fire alarm. I never got caught but it was great fun!

Also had a tendancy to 'borrow' (I don't like the word joy-ride')jetski in the middle of the night!

Makes you wonder if you could do it, Right? I mean come on, everyone thinks they could keep their heads about them, and pull off the perfect robery.

Guess some people just take it past the wondering, and do it. I'll just sit back dream about it, well until they start arresting people for doing that.
 
My friends and I were chronic shoplifters in our teens. It got to be like a personal challenge. One time we stole a canoe. We'd walk into sears, pick up something, and walk out. It was too easy. The one time I did get stopped at the door I actually hadn't stolen anything. I said to my sister in the electronics department: "This would be so easy to steal." So they stopped me.

As far as joy riding... I used to take my parents cars in the wee hours of the morning at the tender age of eleven and twelve. I planed it out. Set my alarm, and went for a spin in their '81 Crown Victoria Wagon, the '76 Elite, and the '70 Le Sabre, over the period of a couple years. Until I got caught.

I think my experience being a juvinile delinquent will be an asset in raising my own kid(s). It'll be pretty hard to BS me, and kids never comprehend how wise their parents really are.
 
Oh, and to this day, I wonder if I could pull off a bank robbery. If you do it right and do it just once, you'd most likely get away with it. If the punishment was getting your ass kicked or something I'd probably go for it. But years in prison is unthinkable.
 
I've always said if I ever go to jail, it would be for a bank or an armored car. Something big.
Come to think of it, there were 3 or 4 banks in Albany that got robbed about once a week last summer, most times by different people. They only caught maybe 25% of them. I'll tell you, that got me thinking......💡
 
I live is Las Vegas, alright? We are all criminals, or atleast the media makes it seem that way.

Pshh....No. The majority of our teenagers have parents with money, therefore they drive a nice japanese car. Really, the only thing Vegas teens get busted for is street racing, seriously. The majority of our "gangsters" race now.
The last robbery I heard of here was when I was robbed 3 years ago on my birthday. You cant knock off a casino at all.

Nah, kids don't do stuff like that around my town either...
 
a few of my friends almost burnt down my high school i was supposed to be there but i went to the movies insteed then i found out they did that and it was in the paper and **** they poored gas and stuff all over and just lit it

Actually Magic, there have been a few devised plans at my household joking around that might actually work :lol: keep your eye on the news :D. But yeah, Everyone at one point or another thinks about it. For instance, yesterday in the paper, a man is recieving a life sentence due to habitual robbery. He goes into a SUV and tries to sell some drugs. Then, he gets freaked out and steals the $20 that the guy in the driver seat has. After that he jets. 5 blocks down the SUV catches up to him with some squad cars. It was a sting operation. Now, for the robbery this dude is getting Life sentence. Now that is for sure not the way of the perfect crime :D
 
When I was about 15, my friends and I really got into vandalism. We would run around town and steal, break, or throw rocks at anything and everything in people's yards. We called it quits when someone almost pressed charges on us for trashing somebody's house and spraypainting obsceneties on their sidewalk.
 
QUICK QUESTION:

If they were coming from Britain, why the hell did they go through Reagan National airport? Britain's not in this nation.

Heh - I wondered that. Having worked in the finance industry, I know how little accessible cash banks actually carry (something to with being robbed, apparently!) in Australia - and I went for something like that, I'd need at least[/] $10 million - not an amount the local 'Which Bank' carries in conveniently handled tender.
 
That reminds me of the movie "Heat" w/ Pacino, DeNiro, Pitt, Sizemore, etc. Anyway, remember when they got in the bank vault & there were these huge blocks o' money? It was cool how they had bags perfectly sized for them. I wonder how much they weighed?
