Tskuba 4 hour glitch nightmare.

So... I'm in the middle of Tskuba 4 hour endurance race. I tried to pit when my tires started to wear out about 50 minutes in and I had a 40 second lead. My car started to go into the pits and than stopped like it hit a brick wall, and than rolled through at 17 km per hour, without stopping to gas or change tires.

So I was like WTF, and went around and tried again and it actually pitted. But there was no pitting animation. No crew. The car just sat there for awhile, and left again. By this time I was down to third.

So I went and tried to catch up, and my new tires wore down after almost 20 laps, and my car is driving so slow. It feels like there is quite literally something dragging on my car. I pitted again and the same damn thing happens it just drove through the pit without an option for gas or tires.

I'm so frustrated, at the moment, and the computer cars never seem to pit.

Seems like the AI control over your car when in pit lane was botched up for some reason or other, you may need to restart or stick it out see if the problem fixes itself.

As far as the pits not having any crew, Tsukuba doesn't have any pit crew animation. Yes, a track that is featured in 2 endurance races doesn't have a pit crew animation. :dunce:

And never mind about the AI hardly ever going into the pits, the Roadsters the AI drives on the 4 hour race aren't very powerful so they don't use up their tires very quickly, cobbled with the fact that the AI drives very conservatively in regards to tires, they have a much larger pit window than the player.

My advice when you do pit is to enter the pit lane before the last turn VERY gently, if the AI takes control of the car and it's carrying too much speed and/or has 2 tires on the grass between the track and the pit lane chances are the pitting sequence will suffer issues.

Really no animation? I did not know that, I honestly thought that was a glitch.

Thanks for the advice otherwise. I will give it a restart to see if I can salvage this race.

Its so frustrating because its so much time wasted.

I did the hitting nothing when trying to pit around Tsukuba thing and then suddenly jump into the pit lane and drive through without stopping once before. It's because you aren't in the pit lane fully or early enough. It's a strange reaction to it but that is why it happens

I had it happen on the Laguna Seca enduro, but it went out,the next lap i pitted and it was fine,it seems to have alot to do with how fast you are entering the pits.the 1st time i bolted in and crashed into the side,on the second go i slowed down and everything went well.

I had a few different glitches happen today. First, I jumped into the 4-hour to test the new resume endurance race feature, I pulled into the pit lane (probably much to fast) and selected suspend. When I exited the game and then resumed, my car wound up off the track to the left of the final turn and was constantly driving at the pit stall and running into the wall on the front straight, would have been pretty choked if it weren't just a test, had to restart the race.
Because I was unfamiliar with the pit lane on Tsukuba (I don't recall ever making a pit stop there before) I decided to mess around with it a little bit. I tried entering the pit lane at the last second diving in before the row of cones and the car drove through the pits slowly and without a stop. After that I tried hitting the pit entrance at the end of the back straight at speed. It popped up the pit option menu just for a second and then it hit the invisible wall but somehow broke through that and cruised across the track into the dirt. Only when I entered before the final turn at a reasonable speed was I able to make the stop successfully. I would definitely agree with what Sleek Stratos and others have said about taking it easy on the way in.

Actually I just had the glitch happen, and I had been very mindful of my speed. Seems a moot point, upon resuming the car was going much faster than it was when I saved, and already driving off into the track.
I'll try saving when the car is cruising down pit lane see what that does.

EDIT: Update. All right then, I saved when the car was well inside pit lane (camera was hovering over the wall separating the track and pit lane) quit the game and went back to the XMB, resumed but the car was being driven back at the pit lane entry, just before the last turn. Matter of fact, Bob almost managed to run it into the grass that time too. :dunce:

I assume the condition of the tyres contributes to the problem... worn out ones will cause the car to skid outside the grass onto the track upon resume ?

I tried to simulate the Tsukuba suspend-reload glitch in an Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo with fresh tyres, did not manage to. It pitted fine. Even varying the pitlane point when I select to suspend did not net me this problem, yet.

I just want to pinpoint this issue before I start my next endurance run.

I also took tire wear into consideration as to why the car runs off the road leading to the pits, but then again if anybody heads into pit lane it's because the tires they have are spent, for the most part anyway.

Pitting on fresh tires just so the chances of the game messing up are lower, is hardly a solution.

Seems that what it boils down to is that the game will sometimes spawn your car going too fast, and given how narrow the pit lane entry is, crossing into the track is pretty much unavoidable, and once that happens Bob gets his racing lines crossed and that's the end of that.

You have to enter the pit at the end of the last straightaway (not the one with the finish line) it's a tiny little road that follows the last curve.
I too tried to enter the pit by the cones and was scratching my head from looking at my fuel gauge. Lol "1/2 a tank and only 1 hour in?"

i got about 2 hours into the 4 hour endurance and i had to suspend the race because i left to go somewhere. i started it back up just now, but the ai has completely taken control of my car. ive already lapped the 2nd place car, i just hope the ai pits and maintains the lead because i am not doing this event over again.

well since the ai took control of my car, the tires are now down to slivers of blue, hes run out of gas but still refuses to pit. now lapping the track at 50mph kinda like what happens to your car when a race is completed. was 2 laps ahead and now i lost the lead with only 1 hour to go, thanks game...
