You mean Tsuchiya?

Meh. I'm sure it's a nice car, but I'm not a huge fan of the AE86. The hype gets on my nerves, big time.

nice replica those rims are hard to find. I wonder how much the real thing would sell for. maybe $50,000 US?

but Tsuchiya's would probably never sell and it'll end up in some museum

If he dont totally wreck it first. Dont forget he still race on the touge and street races, thats what he got his licencse suspended for. A Professional driver with his license suspended pretty weird if you ask me. But that was a long time ago.

Why is it that every drifter thinks that little, pasty, scrawny guy is so cool? I could kick his ass.

And besides, the car looks like crap. If I got one, I'd drive it to the Grand Canyon and drive off the edge and escape at the last minute.

*Yawn* this drift crap gets more monotonous every time.

I can't wait till Cano see this. He'll be running for his life.

The only thing that is monotonous are your post's.

So his license suspensed for following a newer MR2 around a corner??? What was he going fast or something?

But why would you pay 7 grand for a Craptastic 80's car that has some tuned stuff on it. Not to mention the cost of importing it. Doesn't seem worth it, if you wanted to drift just buy a car over here and do it up your self.

The wheels are nice, but that's it. I read somewhere it has a Formula Atlantics engine in it (the original car, not that copy for sale), which would make it pretty quick. But it's still a ****box...

I don't get it. This guy is supposed to be the best drifter ever or something like that, right? So why does he settle for a Toyota Corolla?

There isn't some car out there that can slide around corners better? I find it hard to believe.

every car has it's own handling characteristics. The Trueno is supposedly the best car to learn with but, the few days I spent trying, it was the hardest of the cars I tested. I ended up sticking with the 4-door Atessa.

ah, I dont have nothing against it, I like how it looks and if it realy has a formula atlantic engine, it should be real fast. Im not against the AE86 and not even against drifting, wich I reckon should be very difficult to do the right way, but as Ethix said, "the hype gets on my nerves". indeed. Im UP TO MY MOTHER of these things, wich I may even find cool if it wasnt for every drifter brat wanting one and suposing it is the best car in the world because it drifts and blah blah. I like 80's ****boxes. and I wouldnt mind having one. then again, I wouldnt mind having a VW bug...

Cano

hmm...aren't the old bugs rear-engine, rear drive? wouldnt THOSE be possible to drift as well?

If you get one Cano, can you test it and find out? You are right about the stupid trend whores though.

I am far from an expert on this stuff, but I believe it is a pretty famous car and probably just one of many (different cars, that is) that he owns. I have some video that includes a clip of him driving it on a mountain pass against a stock STi. It beat the STi IIRC. But yeah, it is still a Corolla. ;)

damn drift patrol already on this thread. you guys are quick.

alright lets get the facts straight

No, his license was suspended because he can't drive in a straight line like a normal person.

His license was suspended because he was caught racing/speeding on a public street.

The wheels are nice, but that's it. I read somewhere it has a Formula Atlantics engine in it (the original car, not that copy for sale), which would make it pretty quick. But it's still a ****box...

the rims:
Modex SSR Dori-Dori Mesh 15x7 +2 offset / 10-15mm spacer. Discontinued model people will pay high $$$ for them.

the engine in Keiichi's 86 is a AE111 4AGE 20 valve with other engine mods
looks something like this
4ag20valve.gif

it's also carburated.

I don't get it. This guy is supposed to be the best drifter ever or something like that, right? So why does he settle for a Toyota Corolla?

Yes he is Dori-kin aka drift king

Theme of the project:
To build the AE86 for the next 10 years. (since 1998)
Neverending upgrades to provide the 10 years with satisfying driving experience and training for racing.

Favorite aspect of the car:
A car that will punish driving errors but rewards skillful execution.
A car that will be street oriented and comfortable in daily use.

and the biggest reason why he drives this special "AE86" built by TRD is because it reminds (Keiichi) of past era of AE86 Gr.A racing.

Yes, I6 is totally correct. He got his licnense for street racing on a public road that race between the Hachiroku and MRS was done on a closed touge so it was legal. Tsuchiya drives his AE86 because its special to him TRD built it for him. He is so rich so he could mostly buy anything he wants. He coowns Initial D and get about 1 million us dollar every year because of D1 contest. He has a Highly tuned NSX also.

GanSan bought a Carrera GT :D lucky MOFO

 You feel right about kicking a guy around his mid 40s? The reason i think drifters like Keiichi is the way he does it. I bet without him Drifting would never make it this big. When he started to drift as he was a child people ridicule him for his style and as he starts to win races with his racing style he became known as the drift king. People started to respect what he was doing and drifting became a big sport. He co own Initial D and made D1 so alot of people cherish what he has done to the drifting world. He was not the first one to drift and everyone knows that but he made drifting a huge sport. Like him or hate him most people still respect him for what he does for the drifting world. And if you dont like drifting then i guess you dont apperciate what he did but anyways.

Im sure he got body gaurds

It was in a magazine... yeah that old man bought a Carrera GT. His son also racing in BM also gets to drive it i bet, he must get alot of chicks driving his Carrera GT.
