I was reading RE Amemiya's Tsukuba track attack page, and on 02-13-02 their FD3S pulled a 0'56"853. Over two years ago..

That puts it only 1 second behind the FULL carbon fiber HKS Lancer Evolution race car.

I think the fastest Rx-7 is RE Amemiya's 450ps FD from a couple of years ago. - 0'56"853. I read somewhere that they are building a new time attack FD.

Fastest S2000 (ie. AP1) goes to MSF's nitrous propelled time attack car with a pb of 59.260

Fastest front-driver goes to J's Racing's EF8 CRX with a pb of 1.01.035. Nice.

Fans of pink can say hurrah for Yashio Factory's super quick S15 which has laid down a 57.723, while ultimate sleeper car goes to the ER34 four-door Nissan Skyline from Zaurusu which stopped the clock at 1.01.189 while looking almost street-stock.

Hachiroku fans can look to Up Garage to carry the flag for lightweight 80s rear-drivers. Their AE86 runs 260ps from a 4A-G with K26 turbine and a shot of NOS. This car has run 1.02.894 but has not yet delivered any tofu

And the fastest car at Tsukuba, HKS's Evo VIII had quite a crash at the track... well, a dramatic moment I guess. Driver pulled 3.8Gs while diving into the sandpit and destroying the meaner-than-mean all-cf front bumper. That's what HKS gets for not playing fair (For crying out loud, an all-carbon widebody Evo! Stupid!)

The numbers I posted above are from Option magazine, April (!) 2004.

I got it early March. Nice stuff but I can't afford to get it every month... but cos it's all Japanese and my Japanese isn't great, this issue should keep me occupied for a year or so

For anyone interested in the mag but who doesn't know many kanji, as long as you know cars it's ususally ok cos the vital stuff is either in roman script (ie. numbers for horsepower and lap times) or in katakana (everything from 'time attack' to 'strut brace' to 'full widebody kit', hehehe).

That said, some of it is still really dense (kanji) and articles about cam tuning for the K20A are pretty much lost on me

My question: does anyone know the real name of the tuning house Zaurusu ???
